When I first saw the Kensui EZ Vest Max, I thought it looked a bit awkward.
But after trying it on and working out with it, it is extremely comfortable and can hold A LOT more weight than other weight vests I’ve used.

After opening up the package, the Kensui EZ Vest Max comes inside a travel backpack.
I thought it was neat that they included the bag to make it easy to transport.
Inside the bag you have 5 pieces.
The EZ Vest Max, two detachable weight sleeves, and two spin-lock collars.
Specs
- 225 lbs weight capacity (most of ANY weight vest in the market)
- Weighs less than 5 lbs
- PU leather padding is 8mm thick for comfort

EZ Vest Max
The EZ Max weight vest is made of aluminum alloy which makes it very light, yet strong.
It weighs less than 5 lbs without any weights on it.

Durable PU Leather
The underside of the vest is made of PU leather.
The thickness of the padding is 8mm to help you support heavy loads.
If you look closely at the padding material, it has a bunch of tiny holes.
This makes the padding breathable so you sweat less while wearing it.
Washing the Kensui EZ Vest
The padding material is going to be in direct contact with your skin or shirt, so overtime it can get dirty.
You can either wash the padding in a washing machine using cold water.
Or you can hand wash it with cold water and soap.
Detachable Weight Plate Sleeves
The detachable weight plate sleeves are solid.
The base of the sleeves screws into the weight vest chest and back plates.
That keeps them secure on the vest so they’re not moving around while you lift.
Spin-Lock Collars
Once you have the sleeves on the vest and you add weights, it’s time to lock them in place.
You add the spin-lock collars by twisting them all the weight until you touch the plate.
Once you can’t spin the collar anymore, spin the weight plate a little bit and that sucker ain’t moving.
Above you can see the weight sleeve and collar sitting on top of the chest plate.
You attach the seconds weight sleeve in the back the same way.
Adjustable Straps
The shoulder straps on the EZ Vest Max are fully adjustable.
To adjust them, you have to release the velcro straps on top of them.
This makes the vest suitable for all chest sizes.
On the front sides of the vest, you have D rings for the side straps.
The straps are long and have velcro on them so these are also adjustable.
In the picture above, you can see the side strap going through the D ring.
You can also see how the front and back weight sleeves and collars sit on the vest.
Plate Loaded Weight Vest Advantages
One of the main advantages of using plate loaded weight vests is that you don’t have to buy any specialty plates.
A lot of plate carrier vests require you to buy specialty plates that can cost up to $3 a pound!
With a weight plate loaded vest, you just use the weights you already use on a barbell.
Vest Accessories
Kensui Fitness also has several accessories that you can add to the weight vests.
You can add weight sleeves for standard weight plates (1″ center hole diameter).
They also have Hydroplates (water weights) which are usable if you travel a lot.
Empty them, then refill them over again.
You can also attach a chain hook if you wanted to attach a chain to a weight sleeve.

Overall, I feel the EZ Vest Max is a solid vest.
Feels very comfortable and snug.
Gives you the ability to add a little or a lot of weight.
And you’ll be able to progressively overload your muscles through calisthenics.
