In this Assault Bike Pro X review, I’ll give you my thoughts on this popular air bike.

I’m don’t do a ton of cardio but I’ve reviewed many pieces of cardio equipment and air bikes are one of those that kick my ass.

So not only am I gonna give you my thoughts on the Assault bike as a product but also in terms of the beat down I get from it.

Let’s check it out!

Unboxing

Before you order the Assault Bike Pro X, be aware that it’s delivered on a pallet by truck so it requires a signature.

This is important because you’ll have to make a delivery appointment and they’ll give you a delivery timeframe so you must be at home.

I personally don’t like those long delivery timeframes because I fee like I lose half a day but I was excited to get this beast.

unboxing the assault bike pro x

The box had a few small dings on the outside but internally everything came packaged really well.

All parts were shrink wrapped, had cardboard in between them to avoid direct contact, and surrounded by styrofoam so they did great on the packaging.

assembly the assault bike pro x

Here are all the major parts out of the box.

It’s 85% assembled, all I have to do is attach parts to the main frame and the instructions manual is straight forward.

And this is the finished product.

This is a custom design that comes with stickers and a bright red frame so you won’t find this online.

But the specs and function are exactly the same as the Assault Bike Pro X which is all black.

What Is The Assault Bike Pro X?

The Assault Bike Pro X is an air bike that creates resistance as the built-in fan blades spin against surrounding air.

Both pedals and arms are connected so it becomes a full body conditioning workout that is scalable based on intensity.

So I can go easy and do low intensity cardio or I can go real fast which increases the intensity of the workout, making it accessible to all fitness levels.

Top Benefits Of The Assault Bike Pro X

Full Body Conditioning

In the pic above, I circled the linkage arm that connects the handles and pedals (there’s one on each side).

These arms are what makes air bikes different than stationary bikes, it makes them an upper and lower body workout.

Even when I can use the pedals or arms by themselves, everything is always moving together because of the linkage arms.

Watch the video above where I go through quick sprint.

You can see how I’m using my arms and legs at the same time against the air resistance created by the fan blades.

This whole body exercise is what makes the Assault Fitness Pro X a killer conditioning workout that leaves me winded every single time.

I don’t do this often, but I could also just workout my upper body by taking my feet off the pedals and just using the handles.

This is something more commonly seen in rehab clinics for people who have upper extremity injuries since it’s low impact.

pegs on the assault bike

When my feet are off the pedals for upper body only workouts, I set them on knurled pegs that go through the handles and connect to the bike’s frame.

Click pay on the video above so you can see what that looks like.

Alternatively, if I want to just work my lower body, I can let go of the handles and just push with my legs.

Air bikes are quad dominant so I always feel it in the front of my thighs anytime my legs are moving.

Low Impact

Even though the air bike is one hell of workout, there’s no pounding on my joints.

This another reason why i prefer this over running and why so many physical therapy clinics use this in their rehab programs.

Because of the low impact, the Assault bike can be used by just about anyone regardless of age.

Scales To Any Fitness Level

I don’t have to connect the Assault bike to a power outlet and the battery operated display console only tracks what my workouts.

The console has nothing to do with the amount of resistance provided by the bike.

So I’m in complete control of the intensity and difficulty level of my workouts.

I can go real slow for a long period of time for Zone 2 workouts or sprint against a lot of resistance for a long burning workout.

Best Features Of The Assault Bike Pro X

Frame

The Assault Bike Pro X is made with a 2mm thick frame so it’s made to last forever.

With this commercial grade frame weighing in at 140 lbs, it can support up to 330 lbs.

Belt Driven

I was able to sneak my camera lens through the fan housing rails to get you a close up of the bike’s belt.

The bike works on a belt driven system which is quieter and requires less maintenance than a chain driven bike.

Adjustable (Seat & Feet)

assault bike pro x adjustable seat

The seat height, distance from the handles, and tilt are all adjustable so this bike can be used by most people.

Both front and hind legs also have feet that can be adjusted just in case you have uneven floors like I do in my garage gym.

adjusting the seat height on the assault bike

I’ll show you how to adjust the seat height first…

Right under the seat, there’s a knob on the frame that allows me to move the seat up and down.

It goes from level 1 all the way up to level 11 so there’s plenty of height options to choose from.

adjusting seat distance on the assault bike pro

To adjust the distance from the seat to the handles, I use the knob below and behind the seat.

This lets me move the seat horizontally so I’m not reaching forward when I’m riding.

There’s 6 settings lettered A through F.

And the final seat adjustment is the tilt.

There’s a couple of nuts right below the seat where I can adjust this.

This one’s kind of tricky since I have to eyeball it so I place a level on top of the seat to make it as horizontal as possible.

Since I’m talking about the seat, I might as well show you what it looks like from the top.

It’s well cushioned and comfortable. I can ride on it for about 45 minutes without any discomfort before I need to move around.

adjustable feet on the assault bike

And lastly, here are the adjustable feet under each leg.

I just turn these clockwise until they’re all touching my stall mats and that removes any wobble caused by my uneven garage floor.

Display Console

The display console seems intimidating at first but it’s actually very easy to understand.

It comes with 3 built-in programs (intervals, target, and heart rate) or I can just start riding on my own.

On the LCD screen, I can track time, calories, distance, speed, watts, RPM, and heart.

I pair it with my Polar H10 heart sensor when I want to train within my target heart rate so I can maintain a specific heart rate for fat loss.

Wind Screen

wind screen for assault bike

The wind screen is an underrated attachment that helps more than I thought.

This is sold separately but it’s well worth it if you want to avoid dry eyes (especially if you wear contact lenses) and/or have cold winters.

It has four magnets and attaches to the exposed fan housing that’s closest to me.

Assault Bike without and with a wind shield

In the pic above, I’m showing a before and after.

On the left side, the air bike fan housing is exposed and every time I pedal, I get a gust of constant wind (especially when I’m going fast).

The right side has the wind shield on so it blocks the wind from hitting my body and face.

Assault Bike Pro X Pros & Cons

assault bike pro x pros and cons

Pros

  • Frame: Made out of commercial grade steel for durability and high user weight capacity
  • Adjustable: Seat adjusts in height, distance from handles, and tilt
  • Belt driven: Less noisy and less maintenance than chain driven bikes
  • Stable: Legs are wide so it doesn’t tilt side to side and feet can be lengthened/shortened based for uneven floors
  • Tracking: It tracks any metric you can think of. My favorite way to use this is when I track my heart rate for Zone 2 training.
  • Scalable: I can make it as easy or as difficult as I want
  • Manual: Everything but the display console (battery operated) is manual so I don’t need any electricity to make it work
  • Warranty: 7 year warranty on the frame, 3 year on the non-wear parts

Cons

  • Noise: Even though it’s belt driven, it still produces noise due to the fan especially the faster I go
  • Cost: There are cheaper air bikes in the market but they usually have smaller fans (less resistance) and not commercial grade quality

Assault Bike Pro X Price

assault bike pro x price

The Assault Bike Pro X costs $899 and that’s around the same price other brands sell their bikes for.

It’s a fair price and the brand has a great reputation for making quality equipment so you get what you pay for.

I’ve seen cheaper air bikes but their longevity is questionable and they usually have smaller fans so they’re less challenging.

Assault Bike Pro X Discount Code

Assault Fitness discount codes are hard to find because they don’t offer coupon codes.

They do have discounts on special occasions like Black Friday / Cyber Monday where they often cut down the price by $200!

Assault Bike Pro X Alternatives

The Assault Bike Classic

assault bike classic reviews

The Assault Bike Classic sells for $749 but this one is chain driven so it requires more maintenance (lubrication, tension checks).

It’s made out of steel, weighs 95 lbs, and has a user weight capacity of 300 lbs.

A bit more noisy than Assault Bike Pro X but still a great air bike.

Xebex Air Bike

xebex air bike reviews

I’ve used and reviewed the Xebex air bike and it has a 24″ fan which is smaller than the Assault Pro X by 3″ (smaller fan = less air resistance).

It’s slightly smaller and less heavy but it’s still effective at giving me one hell of a wind sucking workout.

It sells for $799 which is $100 less than the Pro X.

Rogue Echo Bike

rogue echo bike reviews

The Rogue Echo Bike is beefy and has slightly bigger dimensions than the Pro X.

As far as specs go, these two are almost identical but the Echo does have wider fan blades so it feels like a harder workout.

You can’t go wrong with anything Rogue. This one sells for $895.

Bells Of Steel Blitz Bike

bells of steel blitz bike reviews

The Bells of Steel Blitz Bike is a middle of the road bike with descent resistance and a simpler build.

It has a 25″ fan and 350 lbs user weight capacity.

This one has one of the lowest warranties at 2 years and is priced at $849.

My Experience Using The Assault Bike Pro X

my experience using the assault bike pro x

Hill sprints are my favorite form of cardio and this bike kicks my ass just like running up a hill does.

While the Assault Bike works out my entire body and leave me gasping for air, I do feel most of the muscle burn in my quads.

One of my favorite things about this bike, is that I can also use it for low intensity cardio and maintain a specific heart rate syncing the LCD monitor with my Polar H10 heart sensor.

Final Verdict: Is The Assault Bike Pro X Worth It?

is the assault bike pro x worth it

If you’re looking for a top tier air bike with a strong build, commercial grade quality, and detailed tracking, yes the Assault Bike Pro X is worth it!

With that said, it is heavy and bulky, and competitively priced with air bikes at the top of the food chain.

As far as workouts go, the workouts are serious and you get what you put in so you control how hard they get.

So if you’re looking for long term durability and plan to use one heavily, you can’t go wrong with this one.
