The Ativafit Glidetech dumbbells are great for beginners and intermediate weight lifters looking to tone up.
They range from 4 lbs to 44 lbs and take up very little space in your home gym.
Using a gliding adjustment mechanism, these dumbbells can go from one weight to another very quickly.
Let’s take a look inside the box.
Unboxing
The Ativafit Glidetech dumbbells are sold individually so each one is shipped in its own box.
Ativafit sells 5 adjustable dumbbells with different weight ranges.
They have 12.5 lbs, 27.5 lbs, 44 lbs, 55 lbs, and 71.5 lbs dumbbell sets.
The 44 lbs Glidetech dumbbells fall right in the middle where they are not too light or too heavy.
Everything came in one piece without any damage.
The first item on the top was the base wrapped in plastic and surrounded in styrofoam.
Right below the base, the Glidetech dumbbells were packaged the same way.
Styrofoam did its job and kept the weights protected.
Once out of the box, the dumbbells have iron weight plates and a cover around the handle.
First time I’ve seen a dumbbell shipped with handle protectors which I thought was great.
Nobody likes to receive damaged products so extra protection is never a bad thing.
There’s a close up of the cover.
Nothing fancy, just a piece of rubber wrapped around the handle.
Just cut the zip tie around the plastic cover to access the handle.
With the cover off the handle, you can see it’s a rubber handle with small bumps for better grip.
Specs
The Ativafit Glidetech 44 lbs dumbbells replace 7 pairs of dumbbells.
But of course, being an adjustable dumbbell it won’t take up as much space as 7 pairs.
Each Glidetech dumbbell including its base is 16.9″ long x 9″ wide x 6.7″ tall, making them great space savers.
Handle is rubberized with small bumps to prevent losing your grip.
And the weight plates are made of iron.
Ativafit Glidetech Mechanism
The Glidetech dumbbells use an adjuster to select weight.
The adjuster is on one side of the dumbbell along with 7 different weight increments.
To select a weight, pull up and slide the adjuster to the desired weight.
Then let the adjuster go and the dumbbell locks those plates to the handle.
Weight Increments
The Ativafit Glidetech 44 lbs dumbbells range from 4.4 to 44 lbs (2 – 20 kg).
The weight shown on the dumbbells are in kilos.
Here’s a breakdown of the kilos to pounds conversion:
- 2 kg = 4.4 lbs
- 5 kg = 11 lbs
- 8 kg = 17.6 lbs
- 11 kg = 24.2 lbs
- 14 kg = 30.8 lbs
- 17 kg = 37.4 lbs
- 20 kg = 44 lbs
Base
The base is made of hard plastic and has one function.
It holds the weight plates upright.
This makes it easy to change weights and whatever is not picked up, stays on the base.
