The Botorro treadmill is a great piece of cardio equipment if you don’t have a lot of room in your home gym.
In fact, Botorro’s R5 folding treadmill folds to less than 8″ off the floor which is insane!
You can then stand it up against a wall to get it out of your way.
In this review I’m giving you all the details.
Unboxing
Straight out of the box, the Botorro treadmill comes fully assembled.
In the box you also get a lubricant, Allen wrench, and the power cord.
When you look at it from the side, you can see how low it gets to the floor.
When completely folded it’s less than 8″ tall!
You turn on the Botorro R5 from the front.
You’ll see a red power button and the power cord outlet.
Once you plug the cord into the treadmill, press the power button and it lights up.
The back of the treadmill has two holes on the sides.
This is where you insert the Allen wrench in case the belt needs to be centered.

Folding Mechanism
Handrail Locks
Because the Botorro R5 folds, it’s handrails can lock/unlock.
You’ll see a lock on each side of the bottom of the treadmill.
When the lever is pointing towards the feet of the treadmill, the handrails are locked.
When the level is pointing up, it unlocks the handrails and they are free to move up and down.
You have to lock/unlock each side individually for both handrails to move.
Gas Shocks
Right next to the handrail locks, there is a gas shock.
The gas shocks are on each side of the Botorro treadmill to assist you when lifting and lower the handrails.
Once you lift the handrails, make sure you lock both sides.
Pull the lever down to the lock position to make sure the handrails don’t move while you’re running.
Adjustable Hand Rails
One thing I really like about the handrails is that they are adjustable.
You can set the height of the handrails so people of different heights can use it accordingly.
Platform
The Botorro R5 treadmill has a 14 point shock absorbing suspension system.
The feet also deform and absorb your weight as you run/walk to protect your ankles, knees, and hip joints.
Control Console
The control console on this treadmill is super user friendly.
The simplistic design makes learning how to use the treadmill super easy.
Bottom Buttons (left to right)
- Start: Starts the treadmill belt at 0.6 mph
- Increase speed (Manual): Increases the speed of the treadmill up to 9 mph
- Speed (Presets): Increases the speed of the treadmill to the preset number on the button
- Decrease speed (Manual): Decreases the speed of the treadmill
- Stop: Stops the treadmill belt gradually til it reaches 0 mph
Top Buttons (Bluetooth electronic device keys)
- Previous track
- Next track
- Play/Pause
- Volume up
- Volume down
LCD Display
The LCD display displays the following information:
- Speed
- Time
- Steps
- Distance
- Calories
Safety Lock
The safety lock is the red cylindrical button in the center of the control console.
One end is magnetic and sticks to the center console.
The other end has a clip that you attach to yourself.
If you happen to fall, the string will pull off the safety lock and shut off the belt to avoid injuries.
Cup Holders
Right next to the control console, you have a couple of cup holders.
Use these for cups (duh!), keys, wallet, or anything else you don’t wanna be holding while running.
Bluetooth Speakers & Device Holder
You can connect your phone or tablet via bluetooth to the speakers on the treadmill.
Right in between the speakers you have a book or device holder.
Storage
Wheels
The Botorro R5 has wheels on the front that make it easy to move around.
Just lift the treadmill from the opposite end and roll it around.
Stand Up Feet
Right next to each wheel you’ll see a rubber foot.
These help to stand the treadmill upright and keep it from slipping.
Once standing up, the Botorro treadmill takes up less than 2 square feet.
Recline it against a wall and have your space back.
Where To Buy the Botorro Treadmill
There’s currently two places where you can buy the Botorro R5 folding treadmill.
You can buy it on Amazon or you can buy it directly from their website.
Both options come with FREE shipping, which is great because it’s a bulky item.
Botorro R5 Treadmill Review
As someone who doesn’t like cardio, I can say that this a very good treadmill.
It’s compact, easy to use, has adjustable handrails, and folds away taking up little space.
Only thing it doesn’t do is incline.
But aside from that, it’s a damn good treadmill that you can be used by many members of the family.

E2, this machine completely freezed, screen says E2, anybody can tell me what this means?
Error 2 is an overload code. Try lubricating or aligning the belt. If there’s too much belt friction it can cause the electronics to over exert.
I purchased the Botorro treadmill a year ago one of the gas shocks won’t compress to fold down. I need to replace , any idea where I can purchase them? I tried contacting the company but no customer service available.
I appreciate any info you can give me.
Thanks
