Dialed Motion Teases Leg Developer For Cable Machines

Dialed Motion teased a leg developer attachment for cable machines on their Instagram page.

According to Dialed Motion, the leg developer connects to any cable system and is compatible with some of the best weight benches on the market.

From the looks of it, it’ll go into the frame of the bench at the top but it’s unclear how it will lock down (maybe a pop pin?).

On their post they mentioned it works with these benches specifically and “others”:

  • Rep Fitness Blackwing
  • Rogue Fitness Manta Ray
  • Ironmaster Super Bench

Dialed Motion Leg Developer Features

  • Easy set up: It has a depth of 10″ so it doesn’t take up too much space
  • Integrated cable retractor: Self retracting cable reduces the mess of long cables
  • Optimized force curve: Max resistance throughout the range of motion
  • Full adjustability: Allows for full range of motion and partial reps
  • Built-in leg catch: Eliminates the need for a separate attachment if you do exercises like decline sit ups or decline bench press

Compact Design

I’m all about space saving in the garage gym so I like that this folds up and is only 10″ deep.

Since this is connected to a cable machine, there’s no weight horn sticking out which helps to reduce its footprint.

Adjustability

Dual Sundial

Dialed Motion’s design has a dual sundial that works with pop pins to give it lots of adjustability.

This is important to make sure people of all lengths can use it but also to get full range of motion especially with leg extensions.

Full Range Of Motion & Constant Tension

I added red lines to represent a person’s leg in the picture above so you can see why the leg roller’s ability to roll back makes a huge difference.

The horizontal line on top represents my thigh, the diagonal line is my shin, and the bottom line is my foot.

Because the leg rollers are adjustable and split in the middle, they’re able to go behind my knee joint.

This gives me a full stretch at the bottom of leg extensions and maintains constant tension on my quads.

I explained this in detail about Freak Athlete’s Leg Developer in my Freak Athlete Hyper Pro review.

Built-In Cable Retractor

Like other Dialed Motion systems, this comes with a built-in cable retractor.

So the cable goes from the leg developer to whatever home gym cable machine system you use.

When you’re done, it retracts back which makes it so much easier than dealing with long cables.

I’ve tested similar retractable systems in the past and having the option to retract the cable is the way to go because I can adjust the length easily.

Leg Catch

If you like doing decline sit ups or decline bench press, you can incline the bench and anchor your legs on the leg developer.

This is possible because the sundials lock the moving arm at different angles so it creates an ab attachment.

My Thoughts On Dialed Motion’s Idea

This has potential as long as there is enough range of motion at the bottom of the leg extension, which is where most leg developers fail.

From the looks of the teaser video, the rollers split in the middle and roll back enough so that the quads get a nice stretch.

It’s gonna be interesting to see this in the prototype stage and what people think when they get their legs on it.

I didn’t see a weight capacity mentioned anywhere but other Dialed Motion systems have a capacity of 500+ lbs so I don’t see this being any different.
