The EZ Nord is a unique piece of equipment created by the Tib Bar Guy.
It’s a nordic bar that can be attached to any weight bench.
So it turns a regular bench into a Nordic curl bench.
I thought it was a cool idea since I can repurpose equipment I already own.
Let’s check it out!

First thing I saw when I opened was a Tib Bar Guy foam pad.
Sticking out right next to it there’s a piece of metal so it’s time to take everything out.
Inside the box there’s a Nordic bar, a foam pad, two straps, a pull pin, and instructions.
The EZ Nord has a metal base with two rectangles in the front part.
This is where I’ll be inserting one of the straps to secure it to the bench pad.
I’ll show you the whole set up process later on.
The back side has a smaller horizontal rectangle for the other strap.
This strap connects the EZ Nord to one of the bench legs.
And here’s what the padding looks like from the size.
It feels comfortable and it’s covered in some sort of faux leather.
The bottom of the metal is covered with felt material.
This protects the weight bench’s padding once the EZ Nord is tightened to the bench.
The two straps come wrapped in a rubber band.
Foam padding is attached to them to protect the bench when tightening them.
The foam pad it comes with is just like any regular gardening pad.
It’s meant to go under my knees in case the bench padding is not thick enough.
The back of the pad has some ridges to prevent it from moving around on a bench.
Features
- Compact design takes up very little space.
- No tools required for assembly, straps do all the work.
- Made out of steel
- Comfortable leg pads
- Fits most benches
- 12″ width
EZ Nord Set Up
I’ll be setting up the EZ Nord on the Keppi Bench 1000 Pro.
As you can see, the seat pad is narrow so I’m going to set up on the back pad side.
The two big rectangles sit on top of the weight bench.
And the smaller rectangle sits against the edge of the padding.
Insert the strap into one of the rectangles all the way until it comes out the other one.
Then pull the strap until it hangs off both sides of the bench.
Now insert one end through the buckle until it’s real tight.
You want it to be as tight as possible so the EZ Nord doesn’t move while doing Nordic curls.
This is what it looks like once I got the top strap secured.
Now it’s time to use the second strap.
Grab the second strap and insert it through the smaller rectangle.
Pull it all the way through and tighten it around the bench leg.
Here’s what both straps look like when they are tightened all the way.
I tilted the bench over to give you a better look at the underside.

Nordic Hamstring Curl Bench Alternative
Now that I got everything set up, it’s time to put it to test it out with some Nordic curls.
First thing I have to do is adjust the height of the pads to fit my legs.
The pin loosens by turning the knob counter-clockwise, then pull it out.
Then adjust the pads to whatever height fits me and listen for the pin to click inside one of the holes.
Once I hear the click, I turn the knob clockwise to tighten it.
Here’s a top view of the set up with the pads sitting right on top of my Achilles’ tendon.
Here’s what it looks like from the side.
It feels comfortable and the metal parts of the EZ Nord don’t touch my shins.
And there I go with my Nordic curl.
If Nordic curls are too hard for you, check out the Nordic curl progression strap that spots you.
I didn’t feel the EZ Nord move at all so the exercise felt very stable.
Just make sure those straps are on the bench tightly and you should be good to go.
EZ Nord vs Nordic Benches
I’ve reviewed some of the best Nordic curl benches before so I wanted to compare them to the EZ Nord.
Tib Bar Guy Nordic Weight Bench
The Tib Bar Guy Nordic weight bench is a complete adjustable weight bench with a Nordic bar at the end.
If you don’t own a weight bench and also want a Nordic bar, this is a good option since you get both in one.
But if you do own a weight bench, then the EZ Nord would be a good addition to repurpose your bench.
Freak Athlete Nordic Mini
The Freak Athlete Nordic mini is a dedicated Nordic curl bench.
It will not do anything else but a Nordic curl so if that’s all you want to do then it works really well.
But if you don’t want to take up a lot of space with one dedicated bench, then the compact EZ Nord may be the better option.
Freak Athlete Hyper Pro
The Freak Athlete Hyper Pro is one of the most popular multi-purpose Nordic benches.
Freak Athlete’s bench has optional attachments (GHD attachment and leg developer) that make it a 9-in-1 machine.
With all its additional attachments, this machine comes out to about $1300.
Shogun Sports Nord Ex
The Shogun Nord Ex is a 2-in-1 machine.
It’s a Nordic curl bench with several regressions and it’s also a lower back extension machine.
Nordic curl regressions on this bench are partial which are not my favorite.
Aside from that, the quality of the Nord Ex is excellent and for that reason, it retails for $1000.
Tib Bar Guy Nordic Back Extension Machine V2
The Tib Bar Guy Nordic Back Extension machine V2 is an adjustable Nordic curl bench, lower back extension machine, and hip thrust / split squat bench.
I can also use it for bodyweight reverse hypers.
At $449, this one is slightly priced over the NodBench but it takes up more space.
NordStick NordBench
The NordBench is a super compact 5-in-1 mini Nordic curl bench.
One really cool feature I like about the NordBench is that it has the world’s first folding footplate that turns into a slant board.
When folded to its smallest size, the dimensions are 33″ L x 22″ W x 9″ H so it’s one of the smallest benches around.
I can use it for Nordic curl regressions, lower back extensions, hip thrusts, split squats, and slant board exercises.
Tib Bar Guy Nordic Pro Bench
The Tib Bar Guy Nordic Pro is strictly for Nordic curls so it does one job but it does it well.
And it does not take up a lot of space.
Like most of the benches above, I like that it has levels of progression and stores vertically.
EZ Nord Pros & Cons
Pros
- Build: Made out of steel
- Comfortable: Leg pads are thick enough that they don’t hurt my legs
- Easy adjustments: Pull pin makes it easy to adjust leg pads
- Compatibility: Will work with most weight benches
- Repurpose equipment: Converts a bench into a Nordic hamstring curl bench
- Compact: Doesn’t take up a lot of space and requires no tools
Cons
- Knee pad: Pad is cheap but it does help to soften the weight on my knees

Tib Bar Guy EZ Nord Review
I like that the EZ Nord is compact and repurposes equipment I already own.
This way I don’t have the need for a dedicated Nordic curl bench.
It’s well built, saves space, it’s comfortable, and feels stable.
