Feierdun adjustable dumbbells are budget friendly and replace 15 pairs of dumbbells in a space saving design.

They range from 5 – 52.5 lbs in 2.5 and 5 lbs increments and use a dual dial adjustment mechanism.

With a locking mechanism that requires them to be on the base to make changes, these are safe and good starting dumbbells for most home gyms.

Let’s check them out!

Unboxing

Each dumbbells came protected inside its own styrofoam box.

And they even wrapped poly cord straps around them to make sure they stayed that way.

Here they are once I took them out of the boxes.

Two 5 – 52.5 lbs adjustable dumbbells with their bases.

Each one has a locking strap around the handle and base.

Here’s a close up of the strap.

It’s locked in place with a bolt and comes with an Allen key so it’s not something that can easily be taken of which is good.

I can see this being helpful if you have kids around your home gym so that they don’t mess around with the dumbbells.

What Are Feierdun Adjustable Dumbbells?

what are feierdun adjustable dumbbells

Feierdun dumbbells are budget-friendly, space saving, adjustable dumbbells that range from 5 to 52.5 lbs.

These remind me of the Bowflex 552 dumbbells because they use a similar adjustment mechanism.

dial on the feierdun dumbbells

I adjust these by turning a dial in either direction.

The first 25 lbs have 2.5 lbs increments and the last 25 lbs have 5 lbs weight increments.

Each side is adjusted independent of each other and to me that’s not a big deal.

It still takes me less than 10 seconds when I want to change weight.

base of the feierdun dumbbells

Each dumbbell has its own base which helps to store the weight plates vertically when not in use…

But the base is also the only place where weight adjustments can happen.

When the dumbbell is off the base, all plates are locked to the handle and cannot be adjusted (I’ll touch more on this safety mechanism later).

I’ll show you how these work in case you’re not familiar with these types of adjustable dumbbells.

After turning the dial on both sides and selecting my weight, some plates lock down on the handle and some stay on the base.

For the picture above, I selected 22.5 lbs so two 10 lbs plates are on the 5 lbs handle.

The rest of the weight plates stay on the base.

So for any weight I select besides 52.5 lbs, there will always be some plates on the base.

Top Benefits Of Feierdun Adjustable Dumbbells

Replace 15 Pairs Of Dumbbells

benefits of feierdun adjustable dumbbells

Like all adjustable dumbbells, the biggest benefit of the Feierdun dumbbells is the space I save.

These replace 15 pairs dumbbells so they literally take about as much space as two shoe boxes.

On top of that, they’re also more affordable than if I tried buying 15 pairs of dumbbells separately.

Plus I’d have to buy a big rack for all those dumbbells.

So for anyone in a home or garage gym, adjustable dumbbells makes the most sense.

Best Features Of Feierdun Adjustable Dumbbells

Rubber Grip Handles

The handle is rubberized and covers most of the handle so the grip feels good enough to handle 52.5 lbs without slipping.

I would’ve if the handle was a bit longer than 4.25″ just to have more hand space but it still works.

Protective Cover

best features of feierdun adjustable dumbbells

The outer hard plastic cover around the weights is something I appreciate as a garage gym dweller.

I’m exposed to high humidity during the summer so having a protective cover around the steel plates adds to their longevity.

I’ve had many products rust over time so this helps to keep the weight plates protected from the elements.

Locking Mechanism

Since people are always asking me “Are adjustable dumbbells safe?”, I always include a section on the locking mechanism.

And my answer to that question is, yes!

So here’s what the locking mechanism looks like on the Feierdun adjustable dumbbells.

The base has two metal pieces (see red arrows above) that unlock the dumbbells when they are on the base.

I flipped the dumbbell on its belly so you can see where the dial mechanism connects to the base to unlock.

The red arrows are pointing to a rectangular button on each side of the dumbbell.

When I set the dumbbell on the base, the metal piece on the base presses that button to unlock the dial.

So without this happening, the dial remains locked at all times and the weight cannot come off the handle.

Hexagonal Shape

The hexagonal shape of the weight plates is another under appreciated detail for us garage gym owners.

All garages have a slight decline and this is done intentionally to avoid flooding.

If you own round dumbbells you know exactly what I mean.

You finish a set and before you know it, the dumbbells are by the garage doors.

Not a huge deal but having a flat dumbbell keeps them from rolling away.

Feierdun Adjustable Dumbbells Price

feierdun adjustable dumbbells price

The price for the Feierdun adjustable dumbbells is currently $369.99.

This is a really good price for the number of dumbbells they replace (15 pairs).

To give you an idea, Trulap adjustable dumbbells replace 14 pairs of dumbbells and their price is $500.

Feierdun Adjustable Dumbbells Pros & Cons

Pros

feierdun adjustable dumbbells pros and cons
  • Replace 15 pairs of dumbbells: A pair of these give me 30 dumbbells
  • Space saving: They take up as much as space as two shoe boxes
  • Handle: Rubberized handle gives me good grip
  • Quick adjustments: Each dial is independent but still take less than 10 seconds to adjust
  • Safe: Dials can only be turned when the dumbbell is on the base, otherwise the weight plates stay locked to the handle
  • Hexagonal shape: Keeps the dumbbells from rolling

Cons

  • Rattle: Has a small rattle that’s common in these types of dumbbells but it doesn’t throw me off balance while I’m using it
  • Length: Dumbbell stays full length even at 5 lbs so it’s not like traditional dumbbells

Feierdun Adjustable Dumbbells Alternatives

Trulap Adjustable Dumbbells

Trulap adjustable dumbbells replace 14 pairs of dumbbells and use a different adjustment mechanism, a twisting handle.

This makes them sense super quick to adjust.

One thing that makes them unique is that they are expandable, so later on I can buy an upgrade kit that makes them go up to 92 lbs.

Rep Quickdraw Adjustable Dumbbells

rep fitness quickdraw adjustable dumbbell review 2

Rep QuickDraw adjustable dumbbells use switches to change weight and range from 5 – 50 lbs but can also be purchased in other weight ranges.

These are mostly made of steel, have nickel plated, knurled steel handles, and have two steel support rods so they’re extremely tough.

Rep Fitness believes in the quality of these so much that they offer a lifetime warranty which is insane for adjustable dumbbells.

Eisenlink Adjustable Dumbbells

eisenlink adjustable dumbbell

Eisenlink adjustable dumbbells are similar to Ironmaster’s QuickLock adjustable dumbbells.

These go from 10 – 50 lbs in 5 lbs increments so they replace 9 pairos of dumbbells.

I adjust each side individually by slightly loosening the bolts on each end and sliding a weight plate in/out from the top.

My Experience Using Feierdun Adjustable Dumbbells

I’ve tested dozens of dumbbells and although these are considered budget dumbbells, they work just as good as expensive dumbbells.

Only thing about them is that regardless of the weight I select, the length of the dumbbell stays the same.

So whether I select 5 lbs or 52.5 lbs, it stays 16″ long so it’s not like traditional dumbbells that increase in length as the weight goes up.

They do have a small rattle but nothing that affects the exercises.
