The Freak Athlete ABX adjustable bench has launched!
Freak Athlete calls this the “world’s best adjustable bench” because of its 10-in-1 functions.
Here’s my video review of the new Freak Athlete ABX…
What Is The Freak Athlete ABX Adjustable Bench?
Table of Contents
The ABX is Freak Athlete’s newest adjustable weight bench.
When I first saw this, I thought it looked very similar to the Exponent Edge Infinity Bench I recently reviewed.
And that’s because they collaborated with Exponent Edge to recreate their half bench idea (plus more).
This adds more functions to any weight bench which I always like for home gyms.

What’s The Deal With a Half Bench?
A half bench is basically a seated stationary bench that has a short back pad.
This gives me more room so I can extend my middle back and get a slight lean for exercises like shoulder presses.
It also clears up space behind my head when doing overhead tricep extensions.
Just like Exponent Edge’s bench, Freak Athlete’s ABX does this by adding a hinge in the middle of the back pad allowing it to fold down.
This simple addition to a regular adjustable bench eliminates the need for a separate half bench.
Bulldog Pad
Another benefit of the fold-in-half, flip down back pad, is that it automatically becomes a Bulldog pad.
This eliminates the need for a rack attachment that I mostly use for chest supported rows.
I’ve also used this for one armed preacher curls and hip thrusts so it provides chest support, back support, and arm support.
Exponent Edge also has their version of a bulldog pad called the Infinity Arm (click the link below to read my review).

What Else Does The Freak Athlete ABX Do?
Besides being a flat bench, incline bench, and half bench, the ABX supports several attachments.
It supports a plate loaded and cable attached leg developer for leg curls, leg extensions, belt squats, and calf raises.
And I can also add a dip attachment and ab attachment, making it a complete upper and lower body capable bench.
Here’s a list of the ABX bench’s functions:
- Flat bench
- Incline bench
- Half bench
- Leg extensions
- Lying leg curls
- Dip station
- Decline sit up bench
- Belt squats
- Calf raises
- Preacher curls
- Chest supported rows
- Hip thrusts

My Thoughts On The Freak Athlete ABX Bench
Ever since I the Exponent Edge Infinity bench, it’s become one of my used benches because of the fold down back pad.
So I’m sure the Freak Athlete ABX is gonna be just as versatile.
Plus, Freak Athlete has multiple attachments not available with Exponent Edge’s bench.
This is great for home gyms because you get more from one piece of equipment.
This means less equipment to buy so in the long run it saves money and it saves lots of space because of all the machines it replaces.
