The Freak Athlete kettle bell has launched and it looks solid.
It replaces 11 kettlebells, it’s made out of cast iron (no plastic parts), and it’s super quick to adjust.
I’m excited to get my hands on this one and put it to the test.
Here’s a preview of all the details…
Build
Freak Athlete’s 11-in-1 adjustable kettle bell is fully made out of cast iron.
Nothing on it is welded so there’s breaking points.
And even though it’s not drop-proof, this is gonna be way more durable than other adjustable kettlebells that have plastic parts.
I love that they went this route because this is gonna be the only kettlebell you’ll ever need to buy.

Weight Range
The weight range on the Freak Athlete kettle bell is 26 to 70 lbs (12 to 32 kg) and adjusts in 4 lbs increments (2 kg).
I like that they’re making those small jumps in weight because I’ve tested other adjustable kettlebells that go up in 9 lbs jumps.
When I’m doing two handed exercises it’s not a big deal, but for one handed exercises that 9 lbs jump feels huge so this is smart.
How Does The Freak Athlete Kettle Bell Adjust?
The shell of the kettlebell is hollow with weight plates stacked on top of each other on the inside.
Each weight plate has holes on the sides that match holes on the outer shell.
A metal pin goes through these holes to make weight selections super fast.
This doesn’t require taking plates on and off or any tools to make weight adjustments. Whatever weight I don’t select stays on the floor.

Freak Athlete Adjustable Kettle Bell vs Powerblock Adjustable Kettlebell
I’ve reviewed the Powerblock adjustable kettlebell which uses a similar weight adjustment concept but the bell is shaped differently.
Powerblock’s adjustable kettlebell ranges from 35 to 62 lbs in 9 lbs increments so it replaces 4 kettlebells (vs Freak’s 11)
It’s also shaped like a cowbell which looks strange but it doesn’t feel weird or throw me off balance when I use it.
I can’t wait to get Freak Athlete’s kettlebell to test them side by side.
