Freak Athlete slant blocks are the first of its kind that I’ve seen.
Built specifically for ATG programs, they’re stackable, allowing me to adjust them to three different angles.
Having these angles helps to scale exercises progressively.
Let’s dig in!

First thing I see after opening the box is a black bag.
Out of the box, the slant blocks are inside a Freak Athlete branded travel bag.
Took the blocks out of the travel bag and they fit together like a puzzle

- Dimensions: 7.5″ L x 4″ H x 4.75″ W
- Build: Hard, non-slip rubber
- Weight: 7 lbs

Dimensions
When fully stacked, the slant blocks are 4 inches high.
They’re 7.5 inches long.
And 4.75 inches wide.
Stackable Slant Blocks
So the Freak Athlete Slant Blocks Pro come with four pieces.
The flat looking ones are angled at 10 degrees.
The other two are 20 degrees.
10 Degrees
Here’s what the 10 degree slant blocks look like.
Pretty flat compared to the other blocks but then again, 10 degrees isn’t much.
The top has grooves and rectangle cut outs for better grip.
The bottom has ridges that act as tread on tires to prevent slipping on the floor.
But these ridges also fit the top of the 20 degrees blocks like a puzzle.
Here’s what the 10 degree slant looks like with my foot on it.
20 Degrees
Here’s what the 20 degree slant blocks look like.
The pattern on these is opposite of the 10 degree blocks.
They have ridges on top.
And grooves on the bottom.
And this is my foot on the 20 degree slant block.
Next I’ll show you how these blocks stack on top of each to get 30 degrees.
30 Degrees
So how do you get three pairs of blocks (10, 20, and 30 degrees) out of four pieces?
You stack them on top of each other.
The 10 degree slant blocks sit on top of the 20 degrees to get 30.
Very smart design and something I haven’t seen before in squat wedges.
This is how my foot sits on the 30 degree slant when all parts are stacked.
Benefits of Slant Blocks
There’s a few benefits to using slant blocks.
Number one is that it lets me target my quad muscles more.
Another benefit is that I can squat deeper by eliminating ankle restrictions.
And lastly, it keeps my spine upright to prevent any lower back injuries when doing squats.
Freak Athlete Slant Blocks vs Other Squat Wedges
Compared to other slant blocks or squats wedges, the Freak Athlete slant blocks are smaller and stackable.
I wear a size 9.5 shoe and my toes sit off the front of the Freak Athlete blocks.
But as long as my heel is elevated I can still target my quads and remove ankle range of motion restrictions.
Slant Board Guy Duo
I really like the Slant Board Guy’s squat wedges (they call them Duo).
They’re made of solid metal and have an aggressive anti-slip grip on top.
Besides being made of metal instead of rubber, the main difference between them and Freak Athlete’s is that they’re not adjustable.
If I’m not mistaken, the Slant Board Guy Duo are angled at 30 degrees.
These are also longer than Freak Athlete’s so you can get most of your foot on them.
Double Circle Fitness
I’ve covered Double Circle Fitness before and like the Slant Board Guy Duo, they’re made of metal.
One thing that makes them different is an open slot at the bottom that lets you add resistance bands.
The grip on top is no very aggressive but I haven’t had problems slipping.
But again, the main difference with these is that they are one angle.
As you can see in the picture above, I can fit my whole foot on them.
Slant Blocks Pro vs Slant Boards
Slant Board Guy
Just like the Slant Board Guy Duo, their slant board is 30 degrees and an aggressive anti-slip surface.
But again, the slant board is not adjustable so you get one angle to work with.
Which is completely ok if you’re body is capable of that angle.
Freak Athlete Slant Board
The Freak Athlete slant board is 22 degrees and has a textured non-slip finish.
Unlike its cousins, the Slant Blocks, you get one to work with as well.
So the main difference between the Slant Blocks Pro and any slant board, is that they’re adjustable.
With slant blocks you also have the option to change your stance width and angle you feet outward.
Exercises With Freak Athlete Slant Blocks
Squats to Target the Quads
Because my heels are elevated I can go deeper into the squat and my knees go forward keeping my spine vertical.
This shifts the focus of the exercise to the quads.
Another option would be to use a leg developer like the one recently added to the Freak Athlete Hyper Pro machine.
ATG Split Squats
With the ATG split squat I’m able to lean forward a lot because the slant block eliminates ankle restrictions.
At the same time, the opposite leg hip flexor gets a really good stretch.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Stackable: Stackable design saves space
- Adjustable: Can be used as 10, 20, or 30 degree slant blocks
- Build: Made of solid, hard rubber that should last a life time
- Storage: They store easily inside the travel bag so they don’t take up a lot of space
Cons
- Length: Your toes will touch the floor but your heel remains elevated so you still get the benefits of slant blocks.

Freak Athlete Slant Blocks Review
I’ve used several squat wedges and slant boards so I had plenty to compare against the slant blocks pro.
With that being said, none of those products stack like Freak Athlete’s blocks.
Having the ability to adjust the angles lets you progress over time.
If you’re into ATG programs or perform exercises with raised heels, these are solid.

What are the dimensions of the Slant Blocks Pro? It’s not listed on their website nor in your article. Thanks in advance.
I will take pics of the slant blocks with a measuring tape to show the dimensions later today and have them up on the website by tomorrow.
Thanks for commenting cause I’m sure other people have the same question.
