What Is Gripzilla Liquid Weightlifting Chalk?
Liquid chalk is an alternative to powder chalk that helps to absorb sweat, improve grip, and reduce blisters.
It’s made of magnesium carbonate, alcohol, and resin thickener.
Unlike powder chalk, liquid chalk sticks to my hands without powder flying everywhere so it’s less messy.
How To Use Liquid Chalk
Watch the video above where I show how to apply liquid chalk (it’s from another brand but it works the same way).
I apply a drop to one hand, rub my hands together, and within seconds the liquid chalk evaporates and turns into powder.

Is Liquid Chalk Better Than Powder Chalk?

Above you can see I have a block of chalk that I keep in a small container.
I don’t use it much because it gets messy but function wise, both forms of chalk do the same.
Liquid chalk is easier to throw in a gym bag or take outside cause it’s contained in a bottle.
One thing I do like about liquid chalk, is that it stays on my hands longer than powder chalk.
With powder chalk I find myself having to reapply it constantly every couple of sets.
Top Benefits Of Gripzilla Liquid Weightlifting Chalk
Improved Grip

Chalk keeps my hands dry so I can hold on to a barbell or pullup bar safely.
Especially during the summer months when I sweat like a pig inside my garage.
This also keeps me safe and prevents blisters when doing gymnastic ring exercises that require a tight grip like when I do muscle ups.
No Mess

I’ve used chalk blocks before and they can be a mess.
They leave chalk trails everywhere I go which makes it harder to maintain a clean garage gym.
With liquid chalk, I put a drop on my hands and it stays there.
And yes, it still gets on my equipment but it stays on there without leaving crumbs of chalk everywhere like powder does.
Best Features Of Gripzilla Liquid Weightlifting Chalk
Liquid Form

The best part about liquid chalk is that it’s liquid.
All I need is a small drop about the size of a dime to cover both my hands.
Then I rub both hands together for a few seconds…

Then I wait for about 15 seconds…
The liquid evaporates quickly and I’m left with a coat of magnesium carbonate on my hands.
But it’s not chalky and doesn’t feel loose like powdered chalk.
So if I blow on my hands, no dust comes off.
