The Keppi weight bench 5000 is an upgrade from the previous Keppi 1000 bench I reviewed a couple years back.
This one comes with an ab attachment, an adjustable zero gap seat pad, and a better adjustment system that the other one lacked.
Let’s check it out!

Everything came in one box and well protected.
Styrofoam blocks on the corners, bubble wrap around most parts, and some covered in plastic.
I have no damages to report.
Here’s everything out of the box.
Just from looking at it, I can tell this assembly is straight forward.
It’s mainly attaching the feet and pads to the frame, then putting the ab attachment together.
And here it is all put together.
Took me about 30 minutes to put together so it wasn’t bad at all.
It feels very stable because of its wide hind leg and the three post front leg.
When I first saw it, it reminded me a lot of the original Rep AB-5000 that came with the zero gap mechanism.

What Is The Keppi Weight Bench 5000?
The Keppi 5000 is an FID bench (flat, incline, decline) with 10 back pad positions and 6 seat positions.
It also has a horizontal adjusting seat to eliminate the gap between the back and seat pads so I don’t feel like I’m falling in a crack.
Aside from that, Keppi includes an ab attachment for decline sit ups and decline bench press.
Keppi includes an attachable leg that makes it easy to store vertically so I save space when I’m not using it.
Top Benefits Of The Keppi Weight Bench 5000
Multiple Angles
There’s no shortage of angles with the Keppi 5000.
With the seat pad I get 6 angles: -30, -20 ,-10, 0, 10, and 20 degrees.
The back pad has 10 angles: 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 degrees.
High Weight Capacity
Keppi claims that the Bench5000 has a weight capacity of 1600 lbs.
Far out from my PR (LOL) so I had to look at the construction of the bench.
To me it looks like it’s made out of 14 gauge steel but it does have a double frame so that has to add to the weight capacity.
It also has a really wide frame to help with stability.
Stores Vertically
This small piece is used as a leg so I can store the bench vertically.
I insert it at the top of the frame where the ab attachment goes.
This gives the bench a few extra inches so that the back pad doesn’t come in direct contact with the floor.
This is how it looks when I stand the bench vertically.
The hind leg is wide enough that the bench is stable when standing up.
Here’s a close up of the legs working as a tripod.
I like that they included this because it really does help to keep my floor space open.
Best Features Of The Keppi Weight Bench 5000
FID Bench
Flat
The flat bench sits at 18″ high which is a bit higher than what I’m used to but it feels good.
It also has the zero gap mechanism with the seat pad to eliminate the gap between pads (I’ll show you that later).
Incline Bench
Incline bench options are plentiful.
Ten incline options on the back pad and six on the seat pad.
Decline Bench
For the decline setting, I set the seat to a negative angle and use the ab attachment to keep me from sliding off.
Decline Situp Bench
And for the decline bench set up, I like to incline the back pad much more than the decline setting.
I leave the seat pad on a negative setting so I have more head room on the way down.
All positions feel comfortable.
Secure Adjustments
When I first reviewed the Keppi 1000, the pop pins didn’t go all the way through the back post holes.
I had to manually twisted them until the pin went all the way through the hole, otherwise the back pad could come crashing down.
So this was a safety issue and also got annoying cause I had to spend time twisting them all the way through.
But they’ve improved this on the Keppi 5000 and now the pin goes all the way through as soon as I release the pin.
No time wasted twisting and a much safer bench.
Stable Base
I just recently reviewed an XMaster adjustable bench and its base is 28″ wide but this one is even wider so there is lots of stability in the hind leg.
Even though it takes up a little bit more room, I prefer to have the stability than to have a wobbly bench.
Keppi also made the front leg a 3 post leg.
I’m not a big fan of the rubber end caps on this side of the bench because they come off easily so I have to keep putting them back in.
Making the end caps tighter or even adding a small screw through the top to hold them in place would be better.
This extended front leg is important when I’m doing steep decline sit ups so that the bench doesn’t tip forward.
So overall, the bench has great side to side and front to back stability.
Zero Gap
The Zero Gap mechanism eliminates the gap between the seat pad and back pad.
This way I don’t feel like I’m falling through the bench when doing flat bench press.
To show you how this works, I’m taking you under the hood.
In the picture above I’m showing you the bottom of the seat pad.
There’s a pop pin in the middle that allows me to move the seat pad horizontally to 7 different positions to open or close the pad gap.
This is what it looks like when I have the seat pad all the way to the front.
I like to increase the gap pad when I’m doing incline bench so that the pads aren’t squishing each other.
This is what I mean…
I have the seat pad forward so that when both pads incline, the seat pad sits slightly over the back pad.
Otherwise, the ends of the pads would be hitting each other and making a bulge.
If I’m doing flat bench, then I wanna eliminate the gap so that my rear end doesn’t fall through the crack (no pun intended).
This is what the bench looks like with the seat pad fully slid toward the back pad.
Minimal gap so it feels like if it was one solid pad.

Ab Attachment
I don’t know why most benches don’t have the option to insert an ab attachment because it’s an easy addition to an opening that’s already there.
Keppi took advantage of this and threw an ab attachment so I can do decline sit ups and decline bench press with my legs locked in.
The ab attachment inserts to the top of the frame and locks in place with a pop pin.
The leg rollers are covered in faux leather but feel comfortable.
I can adjust the bottom leg rollers up and down with a tension knob on the back.
And here’s the decline sit up bench set up with a steep angle.
I step on the frame to get into this position and with the wide base, I don’t feel like I’m gonna tip over.

Padding
I’m not sure why Keppi made the back pad two pieces but it’s comfortable.
It’s 2.5″ thick and covered in faux leather.
The top part of the back pad tapers down to 10″ so I have shoulder support and gives me room to have plenty of range of motion.
It’s not a grippy pad like the ones you see on Rep benches but everything comes with a price.
The Keppi’s pad will work for the majority of home gym owners who are not looking to spend a ton but want a comfortable bench.
Keppi Weight Bench 5000 Pros & Cons

- Padding: Thick 2.5″ padding makes all exercises comfortable
- Zero gap: No gap between the seat and back pad makes it comfortable when doing flat bench presses
- Ab attachment: I can do decline sit ups at multiple angles and also use the attachment to anchor my legs for decline bench

Keppi Weight Bench 5000 Alternatives
Keppi 1000
The Keppi 1000 is the first Keppi bench I reviewed.
It’s a good budget bench for beginners but I’m not a fan of the pop pins (I’m not sure if they’ve made them better).
Rep Fitness Nighthawk
The Rep Nighthawk adjustable bench is an update to their AB-4100.
Built out of 7 and 14 gauge steel, it is solid enough to withstand 700 lbs, yet light enough that it only weighs 88 lbs.
With 7 back pad and 4 positions, there’s plenty of exercises you can do on Rep’s newest release.
My Experience Using The Keppi 5000
Although the bench sits a bit high, I can still press without any issues.
It has a long seat pad but that doesn’t bother me since it tapers down so I have enough space for my legs.
I like that it has plenty of adjustments for more exercises than just bench presses (shoulder press, one arm preacher curls, rows, etc).
And the stability is solid so even when I incline it real high for decline sit ups, it doesn’t wobble.
Should You Buy The Keppi 5000?
If you’re looking for a bench that can do a lot and doesn’t break the bank, this is one to consider.
It is comfortable, very stable, and has many adjustments (flat, incline, decline).
The addition of the ab attachment gives it an extra function that eliminates the need for an extra bench.
