The Living Fit Cerakote barbell is a multi-purpose bar for those looking for a budget friendly bar that can take a beating.
It’s versatile, spins smoothly, and has a high weight capacity.
Beautifully coated in a black Cerakote finish that helps to reduce corrosion especially in a garage gym.
Let’s check it out!
Unboxing
The barbell came wrapped in a hard tube with tape covering the ends.
Once I took off the tape from the ends, there’s a hard plastic cover over the end of the sleeves.
Once out of the hard tube, the bar is lined with plastic.
And here it is on my weight rack.
Beautiful black Cerakote coating and no scratches or damages to report so the packaging did its job.

Best Features of The Living Fit Cerakote Barbell
Cerakote
The black Cerakote finish on the bar looks great and it’s a good coating option to go with if your workout area has high humidity.
I workout from my garage gym so the Cerakote will help to reduce rust especially during the summer months.
The sleeves are also covered in Cerakote and from previous barbells I’ve reviewed, this is bound to get scratched.
Not a big deal though since the scratches are just visual marks that won’t affect the barbell’s use.
I’ll be using bumper plates and iron weight plates to test this out.
After sliding a 55 lbs competition bumper plate in and out of the sleeve multiple times, I didn’t see any visible scratches.
But when using an iron weight plate, it did leave multiple scratches on the sleeve.
This is common with black barbell sleeves so I wasn’t surprised and it’s only aesthetic, it doesn’t affect the barbell’s function.
To me this is not a huge deal cause equipment is meant to be used but if you don’t like scratches on your bar, check out the chrome version.
Knurling
The knurling on Living Fit’s cerakote barbell feels good.
Not too passive so it won’t slip out of my hands and not too aggressive so it won’t tear up my hands if I do high reps, so it’s right in the middle.
You’ll also notice two knurl marks…
Since it’s a multi-purpose bar, I can use it for powerlifting (bench, squat, and deadlift) and Olympic weight lifting (power cleans and snatches).
Knurl marks closest to the center are for powerlifting and outer marks are for Olympics lifts.
There is no center knurl in this bar which is commonly seen in Olympic weightlifting bars.
Bushings and Bearings
Powerlifting bars have bushings so the sleeve doesn’t spin much during exercises like squats and bench presses.
And Olympic weight lifting bars have ball bearings that give the bar more spin for explosive movements.
This is a hybrid barbell that has both bushings and ball bearings so I can use it for both lifting styles.
Living Fit Cerakote Barbell Pricing
At $205, this is a great price when you compare it to other multi-purpose cerakote barbells with similar specs.
I haven’t found any discount codes but Living Fit ships FREE so that’s something to take into consideration when looking at prices.
