NordStick Speed Rope Review

The NordStick speed rope is an adjustable speed rope with ball bearings that allow fast and smooth rotation.

I can adjust it with an Allen key so that the cable fits my height perfectly.

With lightweight aluminum handles and a coated metal cable, it’s made of quality materials that make it durable.

Unboxing

Nothing fancy as far as packaging goes.

It comes in a small carrying bag which makes it easy to store if I wanna take it with me somewhere.

Most of the time I just hang it on my home gym wall storage rack.

Here’s the rope out of the bag.

The handles are light and made of aluminum and the metal cable is coated for added protection.

And in typical NordStick fashion, the handles are purple to represent their brand colors.

What Is The NordStick Speed Rope?

The NordStick speed rope is an adjustable jump rope with ball bearings that give it a smooth and fast rotation in all directions.

It’s easily adjustable to fit my height by locking a nut on the cable so that it fits my height.

Lightweight aluminum handles and 360 degree bearings give the rope lots of speed to knock out fast reps or double unders.

And the metal cable is coated to add to its durability.

Speed

I can do all sorts of skills and go real fast with this speed rope.

Any begginner to advanced skill is easier when the rope is able to spin at a high rate of speed.

Sprints, double unders, triple unders, and any trick you can think of.

Durable

The cable is metal and it’s also coated so it has an extra layer of protection.

With that being said, I wouldn’t use it on concrete or the coating will slowly chip away.

I use it on my garage gym horse stall mats but it should be fine on wood, laminate, carpet, and other non-abrasive flooring.

Best Features Of The NordStick Speed Rope

Bearings

Previously I talked about the speed of the rope and that’s possible because of the ball bearings at the end of the handles.

They let me turn the rope at any direction quickly and it’s also what prevents the cable from tangling.

Adjustable Rope

The cable comes with a locking nut on both ends.

Once I find a length that works for me, I tighten the nuts with the Allen key it comes with.

Then I feed the each end of the cable into the handle until the locking nuts hit the tapered end of the handles.

Once the nuts hit the end, the cable can’t go any further.

Here’s what it looks like when the nut is inside the handle.

The cable may stick out of the open end but it doesn’t bother me when I’m skipping and if I wanted to, I could cut the cable just outside the handle.

Obviously, if more than one person uses the jump rope then you don’t want to cut the cable.

Pros

My Experience Using The NordStick Speed Rope

This rope is light, smooth, and forces me to go harder because of its speed.

I’ve owned many jump ropes and I can automatically tell the quality of a rope just by looking at how its cable hangs.

If they’re cheap, they will tangle. This one on the other hand doesn’t tangle at all even after heavy use.

It’s definitely not made for beginners because the speed will frustrate you if you’re not ready for it.

But it’s an excellent fat loss and conditioning tool that doesn’t eat up any floor space.
