Oak Club Manufacturing has launched the Don dumbbell spotters.
These are rack attachments with an articulating dumbbell saddle to eliminate the dumbbell kick up that wastes energy.
With rack and dumbbell protection in mind, Oak Club added 1/4″ thick UHMW plastic on all contact areas.

UHMW Plastic Protection
The Don has 1/4″ thick UHMW plastic on the dumbbell cradle and the bracket that connects to the uprights.
This protects both dumbbells and rack from scratches.

27 Degree Angle
The dumbbell cradle rotates to 27 degrees on both the incline and decline position.
It also maintains the dumbbell in the neutral grip position similar to kicking up dumbbells off my thighs.

Curved Design
The curved cradle makes it possible to use different shaped dumbbells.
It works with hex dumbbells, round dumbbells, and squared dumbbells, which covers most fixed dumbbells and adjustable dumbbells available.
Oak Club Manufacturing Don Price
Oak Club Manufacturing is selling the Don for $533 a pair.
This is right around the $499 price tag for the Spot Grips dumbbell spotters with retractable straps so they’re staying competitive.
The price on these doesn’t include shipping and requires that you have mag pins so if you don’t own any, that’d be something else to buy.
It’d be interesting to see what the market says about this price since kick ups are free.

My Thoughts On The Oak Club Don
I think Oak Club Mfg is on to something here but they are kinda pricey.
Dumbbell spotters are popular and even though you’re not really getting a spot from these cradles, they save energy by eliminating the kick up.
This makes a difference as you start to go heavy and every little bit of energy comes into play.
With the cradle being compatible with all types of dumbbells, I can see these ending up in many home gyms.
