Let’s check it out!

Unboxing

unboxing the q-rope endless rope trainer machine

When I first opened up the Q-Rope box I wasn’t expecting to see a gym bag.

So from seeing that I can assume that the Q-Rope can be taken anywhere.

Time to open the bag…

Inside the bag is a fully assembled Q-Rope.

The rope looks thick, high quality, and the part where the pulleys are housed look like it’s made of quality materials.

At the top of the housing, there’s a hook to hang it from a pull up bar.

The other thing inside the gym bag is an orange strap.

It’s long enough that I can wrap it around anything other than a pullup bar and anchor the Q-Rope on multiple surface or at different heights.

Everything looks straight forward so now it’s time to test it out.

What Is The Q-Rope Endless Rope Trainer Machine?

The Q-Rope endless rope trainer (aka infinity rope) is a strength and conditioning machine that simulates rope climbing and other pulling exercises.

It’s called “endless” because it runs on a continuous loop so I never run out of rope and best of all, it doesn’t require a lot of space.

It has adjustable resistance from 10 to 135 lbs and this is done by spinning a handle that increases friction.

Q-Rope can be anchored in two different ways: using a swivel hook that clamps to pullup bars or I can attach it to other posts with a strap.

Top Benefits Of The Q-Rope Endless Rope Trainer

Anchors Anywhere

Q-Rope comes with a built-in hook which I like because I don’t have to permanently affix it to anything.

The inside of the hook is lined with UHMW plastic to protect my pullup bar.

It fits like a glove on my PRx rack pullup’s bar which has a diameter of 34mm.

But it also works on my SledTred‘s power tower which has a smaller diameter of 28mm so it’ll fit different pullup bars.

Once I have it hooked, I just lock it down with the latch.

This way I know it’s not going anywhere if I start pulling forcefully.

Q Rope Endless Rope Trainer strap mount

The other way I can anchor it down, is with the strap it comes with.

It’s one of those tough cargo straps with a cam buckle and a loop at the front.

I have it on my upright in the pic above but with it being 56″ long, I can easily wrap it around bigger posts or trees.

Once I wrap it around tightly, all I do is hang the Q-Rope from the front loop via the hook.

This way I can do my infinity rope pulls from any height to hit different angles, which I wouldn’t be able to do with a fixed unit.

Simple but it works.

Space Efficient

Unlike pulling a weight sled or climbing rope, the Q-Rope doesn’t require a long driveway or high ceiling.

I can do horizontal rope pulls within 6 feet of space which would be impossible if I were to hook up a rope to a sled.

For vertical pulls, I hang it from 7’4″ pullup bar which is much lower than hanging a climbing rope from the ceiling.

So in short, I don’t need a lot of space to use this endless rope pull machine.

Versatile

Cool thing about the Q-rope endless rope machine is that can use the infinity rope is that I can use it to train in different ways.

I can lighten it up the resistance and use it for cardio and endurance….

Or I can increase the resistance and use it for strength.

By changing heights and angles, I can use it to target different muscle groups.

Best Features Of The Q-Rope Endless Rope Trainer

Variable Resistance

The Q-Rope has 10 levels of frictional resistance.

This can be adjusted from 10 to 135 lbs but it’s not clear how I’m supposed to translate the levels to pounds.

I do like that I can proggresively overload but if I want to track resistance, I have go to based on the levels seen on the housing.

The resistance is easy to adjust by turning the handle below the housing in both directions.

When I turn it clockwise, it increases the resistance and turning it the opposite way decreases it.

Swivel Anchor

The hook and housing spin on a swivel and this is good for a couple of reasons.

For one, it helps to prolong the life of the rope.

It does this by allowing the housing to rotate in the same direction the rope is being pulled from.

If the housing did not rotate, every time I pulled the rope sideways, it would hit the sides of the housing and cause fraying.

The free rotation also lets me use the rope as a single rope or double rope.

When I turn the housing so only one side of the rope is facing me, I can use it as a single rope.

If I turn it 90 degrees, I can get a hand on both the left and right sides of the rope at the same time like a double rope.

With the pivoting hook and the housing swiveling to match my movements, it maintains constant resistance in all directions.

Rope Quality

The rope is made of 100% polyester so it’s strong and durable especially in hot and cold conditions I deal with in my garage gym.

I like that the rope is thick (1.57″) cause I get some direct grip and forearm work while doing my pulls.

There is one section of the rope that’s smaller in diameter and it has a piece of tape wrapped around it.

This is where the both ends of the rope are connected to each other.

The tape is just there for reinforcement but since that area is smaller in diameter, I can hear a small click when it goes over the pulleys.

It doesn’t affect the way the exercises feel and I actually use this as marker to help me count reps.

Endless Rope Machine Exercises

Rope Climbs

Vertical rope pulls are what I do most with the Q-Rope.

Sometimes I do them on my knees with high resistance, alternating pulling with each arm.

Other times I decrease the resistance and use both hands to pull the rope with high intensity like if I’m doing medicine ball slams.

Horizontal Rope Pulls

For horizontal infinity rope pulls, I just anchor the Q-Rope around waist height.

From here I can mimic a rope sled pull, turn sideways to work on rotational power, or face away and do pushing exercises.

There’s really no right or wrong way to use it.

Lower Body Pulls

I mainly use the endless rope for upper body exercises but there are ways to target the legs too.

In the exercise above, I’m squatting down, grabbing the rope close to the housing, then using my legs to push up.

My arms are only there to hang on to the rope, my legs are the ones doing the work.
