Unboxing
Table of Contents
The Resistance Training Hero comes in a bubble wrapped envelope.
It consists of a pair of carabiners with 550 paracord so it really doesn’t take up much space at all.
The carabiners come in a nice red color and have a spring clip.
The paracord attached to each carabiner is rated with a minimum breaking strength of 550 pounds.
Benefits
The RTH attachments allow you to attach bands to a barbell.
So what’s the big deal?
This will make exercises harder at the top of the movement where they’re usually easier.
In the sports science world this is called accommodating resistance.
Accommodating Resistance
Accommodating resistance is when you make an exercise harder or easier throughout its range of motion.
This can be done with resistance bands or chains.
Take the bench press for example…
The exercise is harder at the bottom and gets easier towards the top.
But now add bands to the bar and the top of the exercise has more tension from the bands, making it harder.
Save Money on Weight Plates
Now that you understand how Resistance Training Hero works together with bands, this should make your exercises much harder.
So much harder that you might want to hold off on buying more weight plates.
This is perfect if you’re on a budget or don’t have the room for more equipment.
If exercises get too easy, just add another band… I dare you!
How To Use
The Resistance Training Hero is extremely easy to use.
Toss the string across the barbell sleeve.
Thread the carabiner through the paracord strap.
The RTH attachment should now be hanging by itself from the barbell.
Now it’s time to attach resistance bands.
Just open up the carabiner clip and the band won’t be going anywhere.
This concept of connecting bands to barbells is one I’ve previously tested using Collar Hooks on short bars and it works well.
Exercises with Resistance Training Hero
Want to get stronger at bench?
Connect RTH to your barbell and slide the band under your bench.
Then press the weight up and you’ll see how much harder it is than just using weights alone.
Your chest will be engaged throughout the whole movement.
Now any exercise that starts with the barbell on the floor will get much harder.
For deadlifts, step on the bands and pull the weight up as normal.
The deadlift will get harder at the top of the movement.
Same goes for bent over rows.
For tougher exercises like this one, you can step on one part of the band and hold the other part by the barbell.
See other exercises in the short video below…
