I got the Slant Board Guy Duo squat wedges and I’m liking them already.
They’re made out of metal and feel very solid.
The top surface has an aggressive grip tape that prevents slipping.
Let’s check these out!
Unboxing
I got the teal slant wedges.
Slant Board Guy also has them available in black.
I like the grip tape on the top surface of the SBG Duo.
It’s aggressively grippy so slipping off these things is nearly impossible.
Here’s a view from the side.
According to the Slant Board Guy website, these have a 30 degree angle.
The grip tape wraps over to the back side where you see the Slant Board Guy logo.
The underside of the squat wedges is smooth with no grip tape.

Benefits of Squat Wedge Blocks
Isolates The Quads
Slant boards or wedges change the biomechanics of a squat.
They force your knees forward as you go down.
This keeps your spine straight and forces your quads (especially the VMO muscle) to do more work.
Increases Squat Depth
Squatting with a squat wedge removes ankle dorsiflexion restrictions.
The angle on the wedge creates artificial dorsiflexion so you’re able to squat deeper.
Slant Board Guy Duo vs Slant Board
I’ve used many slant boards including the Slant Board Guy’s.
And I’m usually going back and forth between individual wedges and a board depending on the exercise I’m doing.
So here are the two main differences between them:
Number one difference with squat wedges is that you can move them as wide or narrow as you want.
At the same time, you can angle them so that your feet match the angle of your thighs.
This way your toes always hit the floor evenly.
And the second main difference is that they take up less space making them easier to store or travel with.
I can stack the SBG Duo on top of each other and cut their size in half.
Exercises With Squat Wedge Blocks
Squats with emphasis on the quads since my knees go forward and hips remain above my ankles.
I have a leg extension machine on my Freak Athlete Hyper Pro but if you don’t have a dedicated machine, this is an excellent alternative.
Split squats become easier to do with the squat wedges because they remove ankle restrictions.
I can also use them for Jefferson curls or just to get a good stretch on my hamstrings.
And I also like to use them for Pistol squats.
Once again, any ankle restrictions are removed so I can squat deep.

Slant Board Guy Duo Review
I like that the Slant Board Duo is made out of aluminum.
It’s strong enough to hold a lot of weight yet light enough that they weigh less than 4 lbs combined.
The grippy surface keeps my feet grounded at all times.
And having the flexibility to change my stance or angle my feet gives me different ways to work my legs.
If you’re looking for a pair of squat wedges, these are legit!
