The Motion Space steel Indian club is an adjustable club that replaces 6 fixed weight clubs!
I’m a HUGE fan of adjustable home gym equipment (I’ve tested over a dozen adjustable dumbbells) because of the space saving benefit.
This Indian club has aggressive knurling, is easy to adjust, and feels very safe when I add weight increments to it.
Let’s check it out!
Unboxing
The steel club came in two pieces and packaged in thick styrofoam and wrapped in plastic bags.
Here are the two pieces out of the box.
On the left are three weights connected to each other and on the right is the handle.
Love the chrome look on the product and the aggressive knurling on the handle.
I separated everything and here’s what it looks like.
There’s two metal weights that are the same size and weigh 4.5 lbs.
The smaller weight weighs 2 lbs and the handle is 6.5 lbs.
All of these easily connect to one another by twisting a male piece into a female piece.

What Is The Motion Space Adjustable Steel Indian Club?
The Motion Space Indian club is a tool that’s swung around to improve grip and increase mobility and strength of the upper extremity.
With this steel club being adjustable, it’s like having 6 clubs in 1.
The handle by itself weighs 6.5 lbs.
At the top of the handle there is a threaded female piece where I can stack more weight by screwing them together.
One side of each weight has a threaded male piece…
The two bigger weights weigh 4.5 lbs while the small one weighs 2 lbs.
The other side has a threaded female piece so that I can connect them to each other.
To connect them, I match male to female pieces and turn right until they’re tight.
I haven’t had any issues with weight plates moving around while swinging the club so the twist lock mechanism is secure.
And this is what the club looks like when I have all the weights connected.
Top Benefits Of The Motion Space Adjustable Steel Indian Club
6 Indian Clubs In 1
Just like with adjustable dumbbells, the adjustable Indian club helps to save space in home gyms.
Instead of having 6 different clubs, all I need is one that has the ability to add weight to it.
Space Saving & Cost Effective
In the picture above I’m showing you the 6 different configurations of the Motion Space Indian club.
Aside from the obvious space saving benefit, this also saves money.
The total cost of buying 6 clubs individually is more expensive than buying 1 adjustable club.
Best Features Of The Motion Space Indian Club
Adjustable
This is what the handle (6.5 lbs) looks like by itself.
I can attach a 2 lbs weight to it…
A bigger 4.5 lbs weight…
Or a combination of big and small weights without the need for separate clubs.
This twist lock mechanism is something I hadn’t seen before in Indian clubs but I think it’s genius.
Knurling
The knurling on the handle is aggressive which I like and since the max weight is 17.5 lbs, it’s doesn’t feel too rough on my hands.
In case this is too rough for other users, you can always wrap some tape around the handle to decrease discomfort on the hands.
Steel Club Exercises
I use the clubs for warm ups and to increase strength and mobility in my wrists, forearms, and shoulders.
Here I’m extending my arm to the side while resisting internal rotation.
I can do the same in the opposite direction to work on external rotation of my shoulder.
I can also use this to work on my forearm and grip strength.
My fingers, wrists, and forearms are all getting a workout.
What I showed you before are all isolation exercises…
But I can also use the Indian clubs in flows where I’m moving my entire arm.
This gets my shoulders, elbows, and wrists all moving at the same time.
I can do it individually with one arm or two arms at the same time.
Steel Club Workouts
You can get as creative as you want with Indian clubs as you can see in the video above.
If you’re looking for a Indian club workout program, I recommend you check out the Onnit 6 Steel Club.
Steel Mace vs Steel Indian Club
When comparing a steel mace to an Indian club, their length and shape are the biggest difference.
A mace handle is longer so the felt weight will be greater because of the long lever.
I mainly use my steel mace two hands at a time.
And the Indian club I use when I want to work each arm individually.
Motion Space Adjustable Indian Club Alternatives
Maverick Adjustable Clubs
The Maverick adjustable club is made out of bamboo and uses a clamp to secure weight plates.
It weights 4.5 lbs when empty and can be loaded up to 55 lbs using Olympic sized weight plates or fractional weight plates.
This broad weight range makes it a good option for beginners and advanced lifters.
Adex Adjustable Clubs
Adex adjustable club is a 10-in-1 Indian club and works similar to Motion Space’s club.
It can be adjusted from 3 lbs to 25 lbs.
The handle uses an internal rod with a twist lock mechanism to lock the weight plates in.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Adjustable: Easy to adjust, scalable, and replaces 6 fixed weight Indian clubs
- Space saving: Better than having different clubs taking up garage gym space
- Secure: Weights fit tightly without any play or wobble
- Knurling: I like the aggressive knurling on the handle which gives me excellent grip when I swing the club around
- Cost effective: For a 6-in-1 solution, this is a great deal (see price with discounts below)
Cons
- Knurling: Even though I personally like the aggressive knurling, it may be too rough for some people. Adding tape can help reduce discomfort.
Motion Space Adjustable Indian Club Price
Retail price for the Motion Space adjustable steel Indian club is $119.99 but Prime members get a $10 discount
There was also a $9 discount available when I got mine, so if you see a coupon box make sure you check it off.
On top of that, I stacked a 10% coupon code to that discount.
In total, my Indian club came out to $89.99 which is a great price for a 6-in-1 club.
My Experience Using the Motion Space Indian Club
Because I’m doing a lot of single arm work with the steel Indian club, it feels much harder than using a mace.
Especially on my right arm because I have less range of motion on my right shoulder than on my left.
So this gives me the opportunity to work on my weakness more than the mace does where I involve my whole body.
Conclusion: Should You Buy The Motion Space Adjustable Indian Club?
If you’re someone looking for an unconventional way to improve grip and forearm strength and shoulder mobility, this is a good option.
I like that it’s adjustable because it saves space and money.
And I like that the twist lock mechanism works very well and it has aggressive knurling so I feel safe when I’m moving it around.
