In this TrakHandle Sport review, I’m gonna show you a one of a kind D-handle.
It has a 3-dimensional axis that allows it to move freely in any direction my body is moving without restrictions.
This allows me to get the most range of motion on any cable machine exercises and reduces joint injuries.
Let’s check it out!

The Trak handles arrived on their own custom box with no damages to report.
Once I opened the box, both handles were in their own individual bags.
And here they are…
They have a different look than other D-handles I’ve used and much of that has to do with how they work.
At first glance, they look well made and I can’t wait to test these out in my workouts.

- Weight capacity: 150 lbs per handle

What Are The Trakhandle Sport Cable Attachments?
Trakhandle Sport is a cable attachment that uses a 3-dimensional axis so that the handle can move in any direction.
It swivels 360 degrees at the top, tilts side to side, and rotates freely, following my hands wherever I move without any restrictions.
This gives the handles a smooth, fluid motion, and puts less pressure on my joints.
Ever since I got these handles, I haven’t used others unless I had to for a specific exercise.
They feel great for both pushing and pulling exercises and with the top of the handles being flat, they don’t feel uncomfortable when they press on my forearms.

Top Benefits Of The Trakhandle Sport Cable Attachments
3 Dimensional Movement
In the video above I’m showing what makes the Trakhandle Sport different from any cable attachment out there.
I can move it in 3 dimensions and it transitions from one plane to another without any restrictions.
The only other similar D-handle to this one is made by the same company.
Forearm Guard
Anytime I use D-handles for pushing exercises like cable crossovers or cable flys, the top of the handle comes in contact with my forearms.
Depending on how handles are made and the material used, they can dig into my forearm making exercises uncomfortable.
I like that the top of the Trakhandle Sport is flat so it doesn’t dig into my forearms.

Rotating Handle
Everything on the Trakhandle moves when I move so I’m gonna break down every part starting wit the rotating handles.
The handles are 5″ wide, 30mm in diameter, and lined with rubber.
They rotate freely 360 degrees in both directions, feel comfortable, and have a good grip to them.
I’ve seen companies that sell knurled replacement handles but that’s more of a preference, not necessary since these don’t slip.
Swivel
Next up is the eye at the top of the handle.
It’s bolted to the top of the handle and swivels 360 degree, giving the handle super smooth rotation in any direction.
In the video above I spun the handle one time and you can see how it continues spinning smoothly.
This is the second component of the 3-axis design on this handle.
The final one is the side to side tilt which most D-handles lack…
Side To Side Tilt
Most old school metal D-handles are fixed and lack the side to side tilt you see in the video above.
And yes, there are some handles like the Angles90 that use straps and have a bit more freedom but none are as buttery smooth as the Trak handles.
And that’s because the Trakhandle Sport’s cables are gliding through pulleys.
I didn’t disassemble the housing at the top of the handle but looking at the bottom of it (pic above), I can see plastic pulleys from both ends.
And that’s what gives the the Trakhandle Sport its side to side tilt for an all around 3-dimensional movement.
All this free motion in different parts of the handles put less stress on my wrists, elbows, and shoulders which my aging body appreciates.
Needless to say the design has been well thought out from a biomechanical standpoint and I don’t think I’m going back to regular handles.
TrakHandle Sport vs TrakHandle Pro-X
The TrakHandle Pro-X is TrakFitness’ other 3-axis rotating handle.
It’s most expensive than the Sport and is made to work with their TrakBar30 cable attachment bar.
The Pro-X is a shorter handle and for that reason is made mostly for pulling exercises.
Like the TrakHandle Sport, it has a rubber grip that spins and an eye hook that rotates 360 degrees
But this one has a track that runs all along the top of the handle, giving it different angles that the Sport can’t get.
With the Pro-X, I can use a hammer grip for tricep pushdowns or hammer curls.
This is something that feels jerky when I try it on the Sport handles.
With this one being a shorter handle, the hard plastic hits my wrist bones and it doesn’t feel comfortable when I do pushing exercises like chest presses.
So I feel this one is made more for pulling exercises and that’s why TrakFitness recommends it for their TrakBar 30 cable attachment.
If I had to pick one for the exercises I like to do (bodybuilding type exercises), I’d go with the Sport since it sits on my forearms comfortably for presses.
Trakhandle Sport Cable Attachments Pros & Cons
Pros
- 3 dimensional movement: Moves freely on a 3 dimensional axis just like my body
- Joint friendly: Free motion with no restrictions means less pressure on my wrists, elbows, and shoulders
- Grip: Rubber grip feels good and seems like they’re using a similar TPR rubber like the handles on my Powerblock Pro 100 EXP dumbbells
- Forearm guard: The top part of the handle being flat makes these comfortable when the handles press on my forearms
- Smooth motion: Handles transition from one axis to the other smoothly without any jerkiness
Cons
- Hammer grip: For exercises like single arm hammer curls and single arm tricep extensions, it’s jerky
- Price: At $119 these are more expensive than other D-handles so they’re a luxury cable attachment but once you use them, you don’t wanna go back
Trakhandle Sport Cable Attachments Price
Prior to using these handles, I had heard nothing but positive things about them but…
I had not looked at their price which is currently $119.90. I haven’t been able to get or find a discount code anywhere but if I do, I’ll update this section.
Not the cheapest pair of D-handles but I can say these are worth every penny because there’s nothing that feels and moves like them.
Trakhandle Sport Alternatives
Trakhandle Sport Pro-X
The only other Trakhandle Sport alternative is the Trakhandle Pro-X (made by the same company).
It has a different design but also moves on a 3-dimensional axis.
Main difference between the two models is that the Pro-X can be used with a bar.
My Experience Using Trak Handle Sport Cable Attachments
All I gotta say is I’ve never used a better handle.
It’s comfortable on my hands, it moves with my body, and doesn’t dig into my forearms.
Doesn’t matter whether I’m pushing or pulling, it feels super smooth and transitions from one plane to another without any restrictions.
Final Verdict: Are Trakhandle Sport Cable Attachments Worth It?
Yes, the Trakhandle Sport is worth it!
It’s a premium D-handle so it’s not the cheapest but there’s no other handle designed like this one.
If you have the budget for it, you’ve gotta give it a try.
