Vector Athletics resistance bands come in two types: silicone and fabric.
Both bands can be used for a plethora of exercises but I prefer these over latex bands for several reasons.
The silicone bands are latex-free so anyone can use them without worrying about an allergic reaction.
Let’s check them out!

What Are Vector Athletics Resistance Bands?
Vector Athletics sells two types of resistance bands: silicone (above) and fabric (below).
I had never used silicone resistance bands before but I do like how they feel and the resistance profile.
They have a soft, grippy texture to them, and gradually increase in resistance giving them a “cable machine” feel where the resistance is constant.
This is different from what I’m used to with latex loop bands where they get significantly harder the more I stretch them (lots of elasticity).
And the other set of resistance bands are made out of fabric, which I had already tested before with the Two8 Bandz.
These are very durable because of their nylon and latex materials but also feel very light compared to other resistance bands.
Not that’s a bad thing because I do feel they’re useful for warm ups and rehab settings.
Top Benefits of Vector Athletics Resistance Bands
Silicone Resistance Bands
Texture
I like how the silicone bands feel on my hands.
They have curved edges so it doesn’t pinch my skin and they have a grippy texture, unlike latex which has sharp edges and feels slippery to me.
Gradual Resistance
The resistance profile on the silicone bands is unlike anything I’ve used before and I dig it because it feels similar to using a cable machine.
Whether I’m using them with the Harambe System platform or attaching them to my weight rack, the resistance feels very natural.
Very different from latex loop bands which can snap back violently especially as you go up in resistance.
Versatile
Just like other resistance bands, silicone bands offer tons of exercise options.
I like to use them by themselves and also combine them with other pieces of equipment I already own like Vector Grips handles and Collar Hooks when combining weights and bands.
One thing I did notice about the silicone bands though, is that their grippy texture does come with a minor drawback…
They attract lint, hair, and other fuzzy stuff easily so every so often I have to hand wash with them dish soap and warm water.
Fabric Resistance Bands
One of the main benefits of the fabric bands is that they are some of the toughest bands out there because of their materials.
These are made up of a combination of heavy duty nylon and latex.
Only downside is that the resistance is light.
As long as you anchor them down on curved surfaces, these will last longer than silicone and latex bands.
I throw these on my rack, mag pins, barbells, and anything else I can think of.
I did make the mistake of hooking these around my spotter arms and that’s a no no because of the sharp edges.
If you look at the arrow, one of the bands started to fray but that was my fault for using it incorrectly.
As long as you use them on curved surfaces, these will last a while.
Best Features of Vector Athletics Resistance Bands
Silicone Resistance Bands
The round edges make these very comfortable on my hands and their texture is very comfortable.
Their silicone make up makes them more snap resistant than latex bands and gives them a very natural, gradual resistance which I really like.
Fabric Resistance Bands
With the fabric bands, the combination of heavy duty nylon and latex is their best feauture.
This makes extremely hard to break so they’re very durable.
Because they have latex mixed in them, I can stretch these 3x as much as their resting length so I have plenty of range to play with.
Above you can see I have them stretched out so I can get full range of motion while doing chest flys.
Pros & Cons
Fabric Bands
Pros
- Durable: Made out of nylon and latex so they’re tough to tear
- Comfort: They feel soft on my hands and don’t pull hair off my arms or legs
- Resistance profile: Feel light compared to other resistance bands
Cons
- Light: Because of their light resistance, I’d say these are more for rehab or warming up
Silicone Bands
Pros
- Hypoallergenic: Being 100% silicone, these don’t have any latex in them so they won’t trigger any allergic reactions
- Comfort: Curved edges feel very comfortable and grippy on my hands even when stacking several bands together.
- Resistance profile: I like their gradual resistance. They’re not snappy or elastic like latex loop bands.
Cons
- Dirty: Because of their grippy texture, they get more stuff stuck to them. Lint, dirt, and hair can get on them but can be cleaned easily.
Vector Athletics Resistance Bands Price
Both types of bands come in sets with multiple resistance levels.
The silicone bands come in a set of 5 pairs and sell for $55 and the fabric bands come in a set of 4 pairs and sell for $80…
I’m sure I can find cheaper latex options on Amazon but the main difference with these is their durability.
These will last longer than cheaper options so I’ll pay more initially but I won’t have to replace them for a while.

My Experience Using Vector Athletics Resistance Bands
I’ve used all kids of resistance bands: Loop bands, bands with handles, fabric bands, bands with carabiners, etc.
And out of all those, the silicone bands have become my favorite.
I just love the gradual resistance they provide which feels so smooth and sets them apart from latex and fabric bands.
Are Vector Athletics Resistance Bands Worth It?
I really like the silicone bands and that fluid resistance is like nothing other bands provide so to me they are well worth it.
As far as the fabric bands go, they feel too light and not something I would use on a consistent basis.
If you’re into resistance band training, you’ve gotta check out those silicone bands.
