Since there’s nothing to assemble, the plyo box comes in a big box.
It’s bulky but not that heavy (weighs about 32 lbs.

Once I opened the cardboard box, the plyo box is wrapped in a plastic cover.
Something like this doesn’t require additional protection since it’s all made out of hard foam that’s meant to take a beating.

And here it is out of the box…
Like with other XMaster equipment I’ve tested, it’s aesthetically pleasing (leave it to XMaster to make a plyo box sexy lol).
It has the XMaster logo engraved in the middle and different numbers for the height I want to use.
Specs

- Weight: 32 lbs
- Weight capacity: 396 lbs
- Dimensions: 20″ x 24″ x 30″

What Is The XMaster EPP Plyo Box?

The XMaster EPP plyo box is a 3-in-1 rectangle that I can rotate to set at 3 different heights.
It’s made out of lightweight EPP foam (expanded polypropylene) that’s durable, lightweight, and absorbs impact better than wooden plyo boxes.

I mainly use this for box jumps, step ups, and plyo box step overs, but it can used as platform for other types of workouts and exercises too.

Top Benefits Of The XMaster EPP Plyo Box
Stable

I’ve tried jumps from all sides and angles on this box and it stays in place.
Two-legged jumps, one-legged jumps, and landing towards the edges, and it’s very stable so I feel safe even using it at the tallest height.
Durable

This is made out of a durable foam that’s more resistant to wear and tear than wooden boxes.
It’s reinforced on the inside so that the center doesn’t collapse when I jump on it (396 lbs weight capacity).

Best Features Of The XMaster EPP Plyo Box
3-in-1

Because each side of the plyo box is a different length, I can set it to 3 different heights, so I have 3 plyo boxes in 1.
I like how XMaster engraved the heights on the corners of each side so I know exactly what height I’m working with.

When you’re looking at the foam box, there’s 4 numbers on each corner.
Only one of those numbers is right side up (top right corner), all others are sideways or upside down.
The number that’s right side up tells me the height I’m working with. So in the pic above, I have the box set to 24″.
Round Edges

If you’ve ever used a wooden plyo box, chances are you’ve done box jumps and have scars to prove it.
I’ve failed many jumps and my shins ended up taking the brunt of the missed jumps when they hit the sharp edges.
Rounded edges make the plyo box safer and less intimidating when I attempt higher jumps.
Handles

Since this is a foam plyometric box, it’s lightweight and I can push it around with no effort…
But having handles makes it easier to lift and move it out of the way when I’m not using it.

My Experience Using The XMaster EPP Plyo Box

I’ve owned many wooden plyo boxes in the past so it’s my first time using a foam one.
It’s solid, stable, easy to move around, and I have 3 heights to play with.
Because it has rounded edges, I know my shins are protected so I feel confident even when jumping at the highest level.
