The Yosuda Glide Select elliptical machine is a compact, rear-drive elliptical trainer with 16 levels of magnetic resistance.

And even though it doesn’t come with a fancy control console or built-in programs, don’t let that fool you.

This has plenty of resistance to get your heart pumping out of your chest so you can get one hell of a cardio workout.

Let’s check it out!

Unboxing

unboxing the yosuda glide select elliptical machine

The packaging for the elliptical is excellent.

All its parts came covered in plastic and surrounded by what looks like egg crates but longer.

These keep the product from shifting around during shipping so I’m impressed by how they make sure everything arrives intact.

Here’s everything once I got all the parts out of the box.

The main components of the frame are already setup so all I have to do is attach the handles, legs, pedals, and digital monitor.

It’s 80% preassembled so that made it a lot easier for me to put it all together.

And here it is…

I like that it’s compact because I’ve reviewed other ellipticals that took up a ton of space in my garage gym.

This one takes about the same length as a stationary bike so I’m happy that it’s not a space hog.

What Is The Yosuda Glide Select Elliptical?

The Yosuda Glide Select is a compact, rear-drive elliptical trainer.

It does not require any electricity for resistance or to use the console.

Instead, it runs on magnetic resistance that is controlled by turning a knob and uses batteries to track metrics on the control console.

Top Benefits Of The Yosuda Glide Select Elliptical

Stability

the stability on the yosuda glide select elliptical is great

The stability on this elliptical trainer is really good considering its legs are only ” wide.

A lot of that has to do with the two adjustable feet under each feet which makes it level to my gym floor.

I tested the stability by doing all out sprints at different resistance levels and the elliptical never wobbled.

Smooth & Quiet

Click the play button above and make sure your speakers are all the way up.

I’m telling you this because the Glide Select is super quiet.

And this is because the (SKIIS) sit on rollers that turn super smoothly because it has 20 bearings.

I pointed this out with arrows so you can see what I mean.

The ski (arrow 1) glides back and forth on the roller (arrow 2) while the flywheel provides the resistance I select.

I’m surprised as how something this simple design works so well without any jerkiness.

If you look closely, the ski has a plastic cover on the bottom where it comes in contact with the roller.

I like that because it protects the roller from coming in direct contact with the metal ski so it adds longevity and reduces friction so motion is smooth.

Compact

yosuda compact elliptical

Compared to other elliptical machines I’ve used, this one is very compact.

It’s about the same size as stationary bikes so it’s very easy to move it around.

I just tilt it forward so the front wheels are engaged and I move it out of the way when I’m not using it.

Best Features Of The Yosuda Glide Select Elliptical

Magnetic Resistance

Right below the display console there’s a tension control knob with 16 levels of magnetic resistance.

It’s a basic analog knob with easy to read instructions and I like this better than ellipticals that require electricity for the resistance to work.

Main reason is because I don’t have to be near an electrical outlet to use the machine. I can move it around anywhere and get a workout in.

With magnetic resistance, there’s no contact between internal components so this eliminates squeaks and requires minimal maintenance.

Bearings

The 20 bearings on the rollers of the Glide Select are what give it such a smooth glide and make it super quiet.

I’ve done workouts at all types of speeds and resistance levels and even when I do all out sprints, it is smooth and doesn’t make any noise.

Console

The digital console is very basic but it tracks the most common metrics.

It tracks time, speed, distance, calories, odometer, and pulse.

There’s no fancy programs built in to this machine but it gets the job done.

I personally don’t care for fancy digital consoles, I just care about being able to adjust the resistance and time I’m on the machine.

Handles

static handles on the yosuda elliptical

There’s two sets of handles which is similar to most elliptical trainers.

The stationary handles are shorter and have a pulse reader so if tracking your heart rate is important to your training, it gives you that option.

I can see that being useful for people who train in a specific target zone for fat loss or whatever you goal is.

For me, the long, moving handles are what gets me going.

I like to use these handles because I feel I get a better full body workout with my arms and legs going at the same time.

So my heart is racing and I get a better workout in less time.

Pedals

As far as the pedals go, they are spacious and made of hard plastic.

They have ridges on them and I’m guessing that’s to give me some grip but I really haven’t had any issues with slipping.

I just push my foot all the way to the front of the pedal until I’m in contact with the lip.

This keeps my feet from moving during the strides so there’s no issue with me slipping off.

Because the pedals are hard plastic, I wouldn’t recommend going barefoot on them because they won’t be comfortable on bare feet.

Yosuda Glide Select Elliptical Price

yosuda discount code coupon

The Glide Select sells for $1099.99 which is a bit high for an elliptical that doesn’t come with fancy electrical components.

In my opinion, it’s performance is what warrants the price, not the electrical add-ons that most people don’t use on these machines.

It is super smooth, quiet, stable, and gives me plenty of resistance so the value is there.

But I know nobody likes to pay full price so keep reading below for a hefty discount…

Yosuda Glide Select Elliptical Alternatives

Yosuda Glide Pro Elliptical

yosuda glide pro elliptical

The Yosuda Glide Pro elliptical is a front driven elliptical trainer that is super smooth and has an incline function.

It does require electricity so you’ll need to be near an electrical outlet in order to change resistance levels, use the built-in programs, and the incline.

Overall I like this machine because it works great but it does take up a lot of space and is much more expensive than the Glide Select.

Yosuda Cardio Climber

yosuda cardio climber reviews

The Yosuda Cardio Climber uses more of a vertical stride while still giving me the cardio benefits of an elliptical trainer.

If you’re short on space, this is a good option because of the small footprint.

It uses more of an upward stride so it feels like I’m going upstairs but also has the dual dynamic arms to give my upper body a workout.

My Experience Using The Yosuda Glide Select Elliptical

I really like the smooth motion and the amount of resistance the Glide Select gives me.

And after owning a massive elliptical, it’s nice to have one that doesn’t eat up my entire garage gym space.

This is easy on my joints but I’m still getting a great cardiovascular workout and I have room to challenge myself by adding time, distance, or more resistance.

Final Verdict: Is The Yosuda Glide Select Elliptical Worth It?

Without a doubt, the Yosuda Glide Select is well worth it.

It’s a solid elliptical that gives you everything you need from a cardio machine.

Plenty of resistance, glides smoothly, tracks performance, and it’s space friendly so you have room for more equipment.
