Ativafit Adjustable Dumbbells Review

The Ativafit adjustable dumbbells come in several sizes and with different methods of adjustment.

In this in-depth review, I’ll show you the differences between the Ativafit Dialtech and Glidetech adjustable dumbbells.

Both are perfect for home workouts, but one may be better than the other based on your workout goals.

DialTech

The Ativafit DialTech adjustable dumbbell replaces a full rack of dumbbells.

Made with metal weight plates, it’s built to take a beating and last a long time.

The Dialtech is available in two options, 55 lbs and 71.5 lbs.

Because of its heavy weight, this one is ideal for an intermediate to advanced lifter looking to build mass.

Similar to the Bowflex 552 and 1090 adjustable dumbbells, the Dialtech uses a rotating dial to adjust weight.

The difference between Ativafit’s and Bowflex’s dumbbell, is that Ativafit has a red button to change weights.

You press the red button and this gives you the ability to rotate the dial on one of the dumbbell to change weights.

For the Bowflex dumbbells, there is no button to push, and you have to adjust both dials individually.

Each DialTech dumbbell comes with a plastic base.

This helps to store the weight plates in an upright position when they’re not attached to the handle.

After you select your weight, the handle locks weight plates securely in place.

The rest of the weight plates remain in the base.

GlideTech

The Ativafit GlideTech has a slimmer profile and has a lighter weight range.

It’s also available in two options, 27.5 lbs and 44 lbs.

Because it is a lighter weight, this one is ideal for beginner lifters or people looking to tone up.

Its adjustment mechanism is different than the DialTech.

The GlideTech uses a built-in pin as a weight selector.

You lift the pin and slide it to the weight you want to lift.

The pin does not come off the dumbbell, it just glides through a track.

Once you get to that weight, let go of the pin and you’re able to lift the weight off the base.

Just like the DialTech dumbbells, these also come with. a plastic base that keeps the weight plates upright.

Ativafit Adjustable Dumbbells Comparison

In the video above, I show you a side by side comparison of both Ativafit dumbbells.

Both are great options for home workouts.

Weight in Kilos

The numbers on both Ativafit dumbbells are in kilos.

So if you’re used to lifting in pounds, it might seem a bit confusing at first.

But nothing to worry about…

All you have to do is multiply the kilos by 2.2 to get the weight in pounds.

Ativafit Adjustable Dumbbells Base

Both the DialTech and GlideTech adjustable dumbbells come with a plastic base with slots.

These slots keep the weight plates upright whenever they are not anchored to the dumbbell.

Powerblock Pro 100 EXP adjustable dumbbells are built like a tank.

These use a different adjustment mechanism where you insert a pin under a bar to lift everything above that bar (like a cable stack machine).

With weight increments from 5 – 100 lbs, you get a full rack of dumbbells at about the size of two shoe boxes.

Snode Adjustable Dumbbells (Snode AD80)

Snode adjustable dumbbells range from 10 – 80 lbs in 10 lbs increments.

These dumbbells are one of my favorites because they are made out of cast iron and one of the few adjustable dumbbells that are “drop proof”.

Conclusion

Both of the Ativafit adjustable dumbbells are affordable options to workout at home.

They both use metal weight plates and can be used for a variety of exercises just like a regular dumbbell.

The DialTech (71.5 lbs) will replace a whole rack of dumbbells and will benefit someone who is looking to build mass.

The GlideTech (44 lbs) is good for anyone just looking to tone up.

If those two options are not enough weight for you, the Nuobell adjustable dumbbells can go up to 80 lbs but you’re also going to be paying a premium.

Compared to more expensive name brand adjustable dumbbells, the Ativafit dumbbells are a great buy.
