The Bob and Brad A2 Pro massage gun is one I’ve been wanting to try because of its heat and cold attachment.
I’ve reviewed dozens of massage guns and for the most part they’re all very similar function wise but no many offer temperature options.
Last massage gun I tried with a heated attachment (TimTam Power Massage Pro) felt great so I’m excited to see what this one feels like.
Let’s check it out!

The A2 Pro comes in its own travel case.
I noticed the electronic parts (massage gun and heat/cold attachment) came wrapped in plastic.
All other heads didn’t.
Here’s what the case and all parts look like once I unwrapped them.
The 5 attachments and massage gun fit in their own notches and the charging cable, replacement parts, and instructions are in a separate pouch.
Massage guns are user friendly and don’t require a huge learning curve, and this one is no different.
One button turns it on/off and selects from 5 speeds.
And on the hot/cold attachment, there’s a button to select each temperature.

What Is The Bob and Brad A2 Pro Massage Gun?
The Bob and Brad A2 Pro massage gun is a percussion massager with multiple heads (attachments).
It can be used on multiple parts of the body to relieve muscle tension and improve circulation.
This massage gun comes with 5 heads, including a hot and cold head.
Top Benefits Of The Bob & Brad A2 Pro Massage Gun
User Friendly
I really like that one button does it all which makes it super easy to use.
To turn it on and off, I long press the button and the massager automatically starts on the first speed.
Once it’s on, I short press the same button to move up in speeds all the way up to five.
Portable
The A2 Pro comes with its own carrying case so everything is organized and easy to carry around.
It’s small enough that I can throw it in a book bag and I can massage myself from anywhere.
Less Soreness
I love using my massage gun to relieve muscle tension and stiffness and to reduce muscle soreness after my workouts.
Are they just like a massage therapist? Of course not, but not many people can’t afford a one hour massage on a weekly basis.
What I love about it, is that I only pay for it once and then I can use it as much as I want.

Best Features Of The Bob and Brad A2 Pro Massage Gun
Heads / Attachments
The Bob and Brad A2 Pro comes with 5 heads.
They’re shaped differently to use on different body parts and for different reasons.
I’m gonna break each head down so you know why they’re shaped the way they are.
Hot and Cold Head
The hot and cold head is my favorite to use because of the therapeutic temperature options.
You can see that the tip is different from all other heads because it’s able to transmit heat and cold.
There’s a couple of buttons on this head: One has a flame (heat) and the other a snowflake (cold).
To select each temperature, I long press the button and it’ll light up to the lowest temperature.
In the pic above, the first heat setting lights up as orange.
This setting goes up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
If I click the button again, it goes to the high setting and that lights up as red (as seen above).
This setting goes up to 113 degrees Fahrenheit.
This feels real good on stiff and sore muscles.
When I wanna use the cold temperature, I long press the snowflake and it turns green (this is the low cold setting).
This setting goes up to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
I usually hear a fan turn on in the cold setting so this one must use a bit more battery juice.
For the high cold setting, I click the button again and the light turns blue.
This setting goes up to 59 degrees Fahrenheit.
I use this setting when I feel joint pain to reduce inflammation.
It’s usually on my forearm muscles close to my elbow or on my shoulders (sucks getting old).
Air Cushion Head
The air cushion head is the one I use when I’m really sore.
This head is rubbery and gives a little bit when it hits my muscles so it feels really good especially when I use it on really sore legs.
U-Shaped Head
The U-shaped head is shaped like a two pronged fork so I use it on areas where muscles are very close to bone.
This is perfect for areas like my neck and back so the prongs massage the muscles around my spine.
Speaking of my back, I use the AbMat massage gun holder to hit my back since that’s a hard to reach area.
I’ll show you more about that later on…
Bullet Head
This one is good for tight spaces so I use the Bullet head in areas like my feet, hands, and wrists.
With this one being shaped like a finger, I use it to dig on muscle knots to do some deep tissue massage.

Ball Head
And the last head is the Ball head.
This one’s made out of foam and because it covers the most surface area, I use it on large muscles like my legs.
One thing I really like about all the A2 Pro’s heads, is that they screw on to the massage gun.
There’s thread on every head and this is different than other massage guns I’ve used where the heads are just pushed in.
This makes sure that there’s no chance of them flying out while I’m using the gun.
Pressure Feedback
There’s a light that goes around the massage gun that gives me an estimate of the pressure I’m using on my muscles.
This gun has a stall force of 45 lbs which means I can really push down on it so I can dig deeper on my muscles.
The multi color light seen above tells me I’m applying less than 11 lbs of pressure.
When it turns yellow I’m in the range of 11 to 24 lbs of pressure and when it’s red, it’s over 24 lbs.
Five Speeds
The A2 Pro has five speeds and these are shown in a column of blue lights on top of the power button.
Every time I push the button, it goes up one level of speed.
I usually go up to level 3 at the most so I feel 5 speeds is good for most people.
Long Battery Life
Right at the bottom of the handle there’s 4 LED lights that show me the battery life.
Each light represents 25% so when it’s at full charge, all 4 lights are lit up.
Three lights means there’s 75%, two lights means 50%, and one light 25%.
As far as battery life goes, I charge this about once a week when I use it a lot and still have battery life left over.

Bob and Brad A2 Pro Massage Gun Alternatives
TimTam Power Massage Pro
The TimTam Power Massager Pro is one of my favorite massage guns because of its power.
This one really packs a punch with it’s aggressive percussion which I like when I’m not very sore.
It also has a heat head and an arm that can be angled for hard to reach places.
For this one you’re looking at a price of around $290.
Theragun Pro Plus
The Theragun Pro Plus is the top of the line gun from the brand that started the massage gun craze.
This one comes with 5 heads including built-in LED red light therapy and a heated head (cold head is sold separately).
Priced at over $500, this is one of the most expensive massage guns out there.
My Experience Using The Bob and Brad A2 Pro Massage Gun
I’ve tested many massage guns and function wise, they all work the same way.
With that being said, I do like that they added a hot and cold head to the A2 Pro because it helps to recover faster.
I use it everywhere in my body, especially areas where I get real sore like my legs and chest.
And because this one has a high stall force, I can really dig in places where I’m always tight.
I like to use this in combination with the massage gun holder I mentioned earlier.
It’s magnetic and made to stick to a 3×3 weight rack so I can really put my bodyweight into it for deep tissue massages.
This is also great for hard to reach places like the back of my shoulders and anywhere on my back.
Overall, I’m happy with the A2 Pro and it functions like it should.
The heat/cold ball just makes it better than regular massage guns that don’t have that feature.
Is The Bob and Brad A2 Pro Massage Gun Worth It?
Compared to other massage guns that have a hot/cold feature, the Bob and Brad A2 Pro is priced right.
At around $100 (after the discount), you get 5 heads, 5 speeds, and a massage gun with good battery life.
If you’re looking for a tool to help you in your recovery, this is one to consider.
