The Double Circle pull up handles are rotating handles that can be wrapped around just about anything.
I can use these on pull up bars, barbells, and accessories like lat pull down bars.
With a freely rotating strap, these are easy on the joints because they allow a more natural movement as I pull.
Let’s check them out!
Unboxing
The pull up handles come in a travel bag with a sheet of sandpaper.
I guess that’s just in case the wooden finish on the handles is not smooth enough for some people.
Mine were just right so the sandpaper is going in my toolbox.
And here they are out of the bag.
A couple of wooden D-handles with a nylon strap running through them.
Aesthetically they look great but I gotta put them to the test.
Specs
- Strap length: 12″ long
- Strap width: 1.2″ wide
- Handle diameter: 1.1″ thick
- Handle outer width: 6.83″ wide
- Handle inside width: 4″ wide
- Weight capacity: 1100 lbs each handle
Wooden D-Handle
The handles have a smooth feel to them and they’re very comfortable on the palm on my hands.
I’m not sure what type of wood Double Circle uses but it’s probably similar to their gymnastic rings.
Since stuff like this doesn’t take a pounding, these should last a very long time.
Nylon Straps
The straps on these are thicker than my Angles 90 grips so the weight capacity on these is 1100 lbs (3 times as much).
I’m not worried about the strap snapping since these are known to hold a ton of weight but it’s nice to know the weight capacity.
Here’s a closer look at the quadruple stitch pattern on the straps.
Exercises With The Pull Up Handles
Pull Ups
Setting up the pull up handles is easy…
Toss the strap over the pull up bar and thread the handle through the loop.
I have a straight pull up bar on my PRx weight rack so I’m limited to overhand and underhand grip options.
But by using these rotating pull up handles I instantly have grip options that are more joint friendly.
Now I have the option to do neutral grip pull ups which I feel give me a better contraction on my lats than regular pull ups.
And I can also turn the pull up handles so that my hands are facing me at an angle.
This way I can do chin ups without putting too much strain on my wrists and elbows.
Bent Over Rows
For this set up I wrap the pull handles around my barbell the same way I did on the pull up bar.
I use these on the bar so I can bring my elbows back further before the bar hits my chest.
This way I can get a bigger squeeze on my back muscles.
I like to do these on my Infinity Arm so my chest is on the pad and that way I don’t put any strain on my lower back.
Using the handles on a barbell is also an easy way to create a seal row bar alternative when I use my seal row bench.
I can bring my elbows back without the barbell hitting my chest or the bottom of the bad since the handles create extra space.
Landmine Rows
Here’s another set up where I feel these pull up handles work better than using metal double D-handles when doing landmine rows.
I wrap the straps around the end of the barbell shaft.
On the other end, I slip the barbell sleeve into the Barbell Bomb (or any other landmine attachment).
With the Double Circle pull up handles being longer than a double d-handle, I can bring my elbows further back without the plate hitting my chest.
This way I’m able to use 45 lbs weight plates with a bigger diameter instead of loading up the barbell with smaller 25’s.
Cable Rows & Lat Pulldowns
For this set up I’m using my Voltra 1 cable machine along with the Ultimate Row Handle.
This can work with any cable accessory like a lat pulldown bar or D handle bar.
And here’s what that looks like.
I can bring my elbows far back without the bar hitting my chest so I can get a full contraction of my back muscles.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Non-slip: Wooden handles absorb moisture so they don’t slip
- Joint friendly: Swiveling motion minimizes wrist, elbow, and shoulder strain
- Versatile: Can be used with barbells, pull up bars, cable machines, resistance bands
- Range of motion: I can bring my elbows further back during pulls giving me a bigger range of motion and deeper contraction
- Build: Solid straps and wood with a 1100 lbs weight capacity
- Affordable: These handles are less than $20 which is a great price for their versatility
Cons
I’ve been racking my brain but I haven’t found anything I don’t like about these handles.
Only thing that comes to mind is that someone with real big hands won’t be able to fit their hands inside (inside is 4″ wide).

Double Circle Pull Up Handles Review
I like the versatility and natural joint mobility these rotating pull up handles provide.
They’re comfortable, have a smooth finish, and a strap with a weight capacity I’ll never exceed.
The extra range of motion I get with these allows me to get a bigger squeeze and makes exercises more efficient.
And if you have a straight pull up bar like me, these give you a variety of grip options to work with.
