The Fitletic hydration running belt is an accessory I never considered buying until I started running more.

And no, I’m not a huge long distance runner but I do like to mix up my cardio every once in a while.

During the summer, a hydration belt comes in handy in the heat and Fitletic’s belt works as intended so I’ll share my experience.

Features

Adjustable Belt

The belt is elastic and adjustable so it’ll fit people of different waist sizes.

To adjust the belt I just slide the buckles to the sides to make the belt shorter or longer.

Fitletic sells two size belts: Small/medium which fits waists from 24″ to 34″ and Large/X-large for waist sizes from 35″ to 42″.

Above you can see how the belt fits around my waist.

It’s meant to be worn on the back but I’ve seen people use the belt in the front too.

Dual Adjust Belt Buckle

The belt buckle has a top and bottom piece that slide in easily and lock in place.

To unlock all I do is press the top and bottom and it slides right out.

Nothing fancy but it stays in place and I’ve never had an issue with the belt coming off.

Quick Draw Holsters

The holsters are angled at 45 degrees and hug bottles tightly so they stay in place while running.

The Fitletic running belt comes with two 8 oz water bottles but can also fit other sizes.

These bottles are leak proof so they water doesn’t come out when I flip them upside down.

But when I squeeze them the water squirts out without a problem.

What I really like is that I don’t have to turn a cap so I can drink with one hand while on my runs.

The holsters are meant to be used with the water bottles it comes with but I’ve used regular water bottles and it works too.

This is possible because of the bungee cord loops right above the holsters.

Bungee Cord Loops

The bungee cord loops are there to keep water bottles from jumping out of the holsters.

They’re elastic so they can fit around different sized bottles.

The bottle I used in the picture above is way bigger than what’s recommended but…

Between the elasticity in the holster and the bungee cord, it’s not going anywhere.

Silicone Grippers

On the back of each holster there’s a bunch of raised rubber half circles.

These are silicone grippers that prevent the running belt from bouncing up and down.

The silicone grippers are meant to be worn low below the hip bones so they work properly.

If you wear the running belt around your belly they won’t grip as intended.

Running Belt For Phone

The center of the Fitletic running belt is made of neoprene material.

This makes it water resistant (not water-proof) so it can withstand water but not being underwater.

The pouch will work with most phones unless they’re real big.

Inside the pouch there’s also a smaller interior pocket.

I mainly use it for my keys but this can also be used for credit cards, cash, or smaller items.

The back of the pouch is all neoprene.

Gel Loops

Right where the elastic belt starts there’s a small loop on both sides that can be missed if you don’t know about it.

That loop is there to carry energy gels.

Squeeze them in the stretchy loop and they stay in place.

Reflective Strips

I usually go out for runs during the day when it’s sunny but for the belt does have reflective strips on each side to make yourself more visible.

This is more for people who like running early in the morning or late at night when there’s less light.

The strips reflect light so people driving can see you better.

Bib Toggles

And the last feature on this Fitletic hydration belt I want to highlight is the bib toggles.

If you sign up for races and don’t wanna pin a bib on your shirt, these toggles keep your bibs at waist level.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Adjustable: Elastic and adjustable belt fits most people

Water bottles: Bottles don’t leak and spray water every time I squeeze them

Holsters: Keep bottles in place so they don’t move around when running

Gel loops: For those who run long distances, gel loops make it easy to keep a boost of energy handy

Pouch: Keeps most phones and other small items zipped up so I don’t have to hold them while running

Cons

Big phones: May not work for big phones
