If you’re into calisthenics, the HGG Performance Mini Parallettes are a beauty.
They are smaller than regular parallettes so they take up less space.
And they’re built like a tank.
The last set of DIY parallettes I made out of PVC broke in half while I was doing L-sits.
I won’t have to worry about these breaking since they’re made out of heavy duty steel.
Let’s check these out!

- Length: 7.8″ tall

Features
Thick Handles
The mini parallettes have a thicker than normal handle.
This forces my forearms and hands to work harder to maintain grip as I exercise.
So they’re great to increase grip and forearm strength.
Non-Slip Rubber Pads
Under the bottom of each foot there’s a rubber pad.
These anti-slip pads make the mini parallettes safe especially when doing exercises where my feet are off the floor.
Parallettes Calisthenics Exercises
Push Ups
Push ups on parallettes have always been a popular exercise.
If you suffer from wrist pain, putting your hand flat on the floor during push ups can cause more pain.
One of the main benefits of using parallettes is keeping wrists neutral helps to prevent wrist pain.
The height of the mini parallettes also helps you go deeper for a bigger stretch at the bottom of the push up.
L Sits
With over 6 inches in height, I have plenty of room to do L-sits on the mini parallettes.
And again, my wrists aren’t completely flat on the floor which takes pressure off them.
Handstand Push Ups
Handstand push ups are tough as it is…
But adding the mini parallettes makes them hard as hell.
The increased height lets me go deeper into the handstand push up putting me at a disadvantage.
Inverted Push Ups
I can also scale it down to inverted push ups by keeping my legs on the floor and my butt high.
This way I can still target my shoulders and get increased depth at the bottom of the exercise.
As you can see above, my head goes past my hands for more range of motion.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Compact: Smaller than most parallettes makes them easy to store and travel with.
- Easy on the wrists: Neutral position of the wrists decreases wrist pain.
- Increased range of motion: The height of the mini parallettes lets you go deeper into the bottom of exercises.
- Bigger forearm/hand muscles activation: Wide diameter handle forces hand and forearm muscles to work harder to grip it.
- Safe: Rubber pads under feet prevent the mini parallettes from sliding on the floor.
Cons
No cons that I can think of. It’s built well. I have no complaints.

HGG Performance Mini Parallettes Review
I really enjoy using the HGG mini parallettes.
They’re taller than push up bars so I can still do push ups but work on skills like L-sits as well.
The thicker handle gives my arms and forearms a bigger challenge so I can build a strong grip at the same time.
WIth a stable base, strong steel build, anti-slip pads, and thick handle, they are solid for those who love calisthenics.
