Joroto XM16 Spin Bike Review

The Joroto XM16 spin bike is one of the best magnetic resistance bikes I’ve tried for many reasons.

It’s extremely quiet, very affordable, and will get your heart rate up quickly!

Let’s dig right into all the details.

Assembly

Putting the Joroto XM16 spin bike together was pretty straight forward.

The main frame (flywheel and pedals) all come in one piece.

All I had to do was attach the legs, seat, arm rest, and display monitor.

I was done in about 30 minutes following the step-by-step instructions provided.

Magnetic Resistance Spin Bike

The Joroto XM16 uses magnetic resistance to give you a challenge.

That’s a big plus because there is no break pad that can wear down over time with constant use.

Right above the 30 lbs flywheel there’s a magnetic pad with 7 magnets.

As the magnets get closer to the flywheel, they slow down the wheel and the resistance increases.

Resistance Knob

To control the resistance level, there’s a red knob above the flywheel that is connected to the magnetic break pad.

This moves the magnets closer and further away from the flywheel.

You can turn it clockwise (+) to increase the resistance or counter clockwise (-) to decrease it.

If you’re going real fast and want to stop the flywheel immediately, push the knob straight down.

Belt Drive Mechanism

The XM16 is extremely quiet.

And this is because of its belt driven mechanism.

When you compare a belt to a chain bike, the difference in noise is very noticeable.

A belt driven bike can be used indoors with little noise disturbance to others around you.

Fully Adjustable

The seat, handle bars, resistance, and pedals are all adjustable.

This makes the Joroto XM16 good for different heights and fitness levels.

It will work for people with an inseam between 29.5″ to 39″.

Adjustable Seat

The seat is wide and comfortable so you don’t hurt if you ride for a long time.

It’s 10.6 inches long and 8 inches wide, with about 2 inches of padding.

The seat has a couple of pull knobs right below it.

One knob moves the seat closer to the handle bars (6 settings).

The other knob moves the seat higher or lower (10 settings).

Adjustable Handles

The handlebar is also adjustable.

You can adjust it up and down, and back and forth to different settings.

Just like the seat, you have a couple of pull knobs right below the handle bars.

Display Monitor

The XM16’s display monitor is simple and also serves as a device holder.

You can set your phone or tablet down and watch spin classes or any other form of entertainment.

One button controls everything on the LCD screen.

It monitors your time, speed, RPM, distance, and calories burned so you can keep track of your progress.

Caged Metal Petals

The Joroto XM16 petals have metal spikes to give you a secure grip.

On top of that, they also have a plastic cage to keep your feet from slipping when you’re going fast or standing up.

They also have an adjustable strap to set it to your shoe size.

Once it’s nice and snug around your shoe, you can go real fast without any problems.

Easy to Transport

Right at the front of the front leg, you have built-in wheels.

These make it easy to tilt the spin bike forward and move it around without having to lift it.

Once you’re done working out, just roll it out of the way without struggling.

The back leg doesn’t have any wheels but that doesn’t matter.

With its 20″ wide base, it’s there for stability.

The Mighty Bottle Holder

And last but not least, the mighty bottle holder.

It’s made of metal and just helps you to stay hydrated while you ride.

Overall, I feel the Joroto XM16 is a very good magnetic resistance spin bike.

Aesthetically, the black frame and chrome wheel look great.

With fully adjustable handles, seat, resistance, and pedals, it’s perfect for many people and fitness levels.

It doesn’t take up a lot of room or make noise so it’s ideal for a home gym.
