PRx Dialed Motion Cable Machine Coming?

Is a PRx Dialed Motion cable machine coming?

PRx Performance recently teased a cable machine / functional trainer collaboration with a mystery company.

From the teaser pics, it looks like it could be a collaboration with Dialed Motion.

I’ve tried many home gym cable system setups on my PRx Pro rack so I’m excited what they come up with.

Here are some pics that PRx teased and above you can see what looks like the upper arms that Dialed Motion uses on their Sidewinder.

This definitely looks like the Dialed Motion’s cable retractor that allows cable length adjustments with the flip of a switch.

And this right here is what intrigues me the most.

This pics appears to show a linkage arm and two pieces of UHMW plastic above and below the arm.

Here’s what could overcome the linkage arm connection to the uprights that prevents trolleys from sliding all the way up and down the uprights.

Keep reading below and I’ll show you what I mean…

PRx Folding Rack Limitations

I’ve owned a PRx folding rack since 2018 and I love it for its space saving design.

It’s also force me me to get super creative because being a half rack, I’m only working with 2 uprights instead of 4 or 6.

The more uprights you have, the more attachments you can add to it making it easier to come up with gym hacks and get the most out of the rack.

With that being said, when it comes to rack mounted trolley systems, the linkage arms on the uprights prevent how far up or down you can go.

In the pic above, you can see how the linkage arm coming from the wall connects to the upright with a bolt.

This makes it impossible for a trolley to slide all the way down the upright.

On top, the linkage arm doesn’t really get in the way because it goes into the last hole…

When I bought my rack, I chose the kipping pull up bar and one of its arms curves down and attaches 5 holes down.

Just like the bottom linkage arm, this connection prevents a trolley arm from rolling all the way up.

So I’m curious to see what they’ve come up with to overcome this…

Rack Mounted Cable Machine Systems I’ve Tried

Here’s a list of some of the home gym cable machines I’ve used on my PRx rack and what I like about them:

Beyond Power Voltra

beyond power voltra 1 review

Digital cable resistance with up to 200 lbs and multiple resistance modes. The ability to increase the eccentric resistance is my favorite feature.

Read my Beyond Power Voltra review.

Ancore Trainer

ancore pro trainer review

Magnetic resistance machine with up to 65 lbs. I like that it uses its own weight plates so there’s batteries to charge so it’s always ready to use.

Great for isolation exercises but feels very light for cable rows and lat pulldowns.

Shogun Sports Flex

Magnetic resistance machine with up to 44 lbs with various resistance modes.

More for isolation and light weight exercises. Small so it’s easy to take anywhere.

Bullet Pulley

The Bullet Pulley is a low and high home gym pulley system for plated loaded setups.

Having a swiveling low pulley gives me more exercise options than just having a high pulley.

Check out my in-depth Bullet Pulley review.

Rig Roller X

The Rig Roller X is a plate loaded trolley system that works with pulleys.

Because this is a trolley that slides up and down my upright, there is no cable swing involved like with other pulley systems.

Check out my Rig Roller X review.

RailTrainer

RailTrainer is no longer in business but they were one of the original ones to come out with a retractable cable plate loaded pulley system.

PRX Dialed Motion Collab

This could be an excellent collab for PRx and their folding racks when it comes to adding trolley cable pulley systems to them.

It would open up a cable system with no swinging cable and add a lot of versatility to PRx rack owners.

I’ll update this page once they drop the product….
