Let me start off by saying that the PRx Performance folding incline bench is bad ass.
This has been something people have been requesting for a very long time.
And PRx has come through once again in their typical space saving fashion.
Just like their folding weight racks and the original flat folding bench, this bench folds up to the wall, taking up minimal space.
With this bench you have the ability to use 6 incline bench angles.

The PRx Performance folding incline bench comes almost fully assembled right out of the box.
It comes well packed with plenty of hard cardboard protecting the bench.
In order to unfold the incline bench, you have to lay it pad down.
To unfold it, just lift the front leg and bracket simultaneously.
You also get all the hardware that’s necessary for the installation, which surprisingly isn’t much.
You get 4 lag bolts and 4 flat washers that go into the wall studs.
And 2 serrated flange nuts that you use to connect the gas shocks to the bench.
Bench Specs
Once installed and folded, the PRx Performance folding incline bench sits 62 1/4″ inches tall against your wall.
From side to side, it only takes up 18 inches of space at its widest point (wall bracket).
If you already own one of their racks, it’ll fit like a glove right in between the uprights.
From the side, it only sticks out 7″ from the wall.
The Pro Rack I have sticks out 4″ from the wall, so the bench only adds 3 more inches of intrusion to my set up.
The padding on the bench is 2″ thick and feels very comfortable and offers good support.
The size of the padding from the top of the backrest to the bottom of the seat is 50″ long x 12″ wide.
Once you fold it out, the bench takes up 61″ from the wall to the bottom leg.
You also have the ability to adjust this distance based on how the bench sits in between to your rack.

In case you need to adjust the bench closer or further from the wall, you’ll see a couple of bolts beneath the backrest.
Remove those first, then remove two side bolts at the front of the beach (near the seat).
Tools Needed For Installation
Installing the bench to the wall was not hard, but you’ll need these tools:
- Stud finder
- Cordless drill
- 7/32″ drill bit
- 1/2″ open ended wrench
- 1/2″ socket
- 9/16″ open ended wrench
- 9/16″ socket & ratchet
Installing the PRx Folding Incline Bench
Find the Studs
First you’ll need to find the studs on your wall to make sure the bench is anchored down securely.
Make sure the studs are 16″ on center.
If the studs are not 16″ on center, you’ll need to attach a stringer board to the wall.
The board needs to be at least 8″ tall and long enough to be drilled into two studs.
Mark Your Drilling Points
After finding your two studs, you’ll need to mark 4 points on the wall (2 on each stud).
From the floor, measure and mark the wall at 9 1/4″ and 13 3/4″ on each stud.
Using a 7/32″ drill bit, drill pilot holes a minimum of 2″ deep on the marks you made.
Secure The Bench To The Wall
Stand up the bench on its legs with the wall bracket against the wall.
Then line up the pilot holes to the holes on the bracket.
Screw your lag bolts with washers 2/3 of the way in.
Fold the bench into an upright position against the wall (you may need help to hold it up).
Screw the gas shocks into the ears of the wall bracket.
Go back and fully tighten the lag bolts securing the wall bracket to the wall.
Bench Settings
By default, the PRx folding incline bench starts in the flat position.
Once you unlock it, you have the ability to incline it to 6 different positions.
Unlocking the PRx Folding Incline Bench
To change the bench from the flat position to any incline, you’ll have to head to the top of the backrest.
Right behind the backrest, you’ll see a T-shaped containment latch.
Pull the latch towards the wall to unlock it, then pull the bench up and you’ll see it start sliding into the first incline.
Changing Incline Angles
At the bottom of the bench seat, you’ll find the latch handle that lets you adjust the bench to different angles.
You want to pull this handle away from the wall to be able to change the incline angles.
Pulling the latch handles retracts a pin from its locked position.
Once the pin is out of the hole, you can slide the bench back towards other holes that will lock it in place at different angles.
On both sides of the backrest pad, you’ll see handles also.
These are there to assist you when changing incline angles.
Make sure you grab the bench from these handles to prevent pinching your fingers when placing the bench back down to a flat position.
Right below the seat, you’ll see a small wheel on both sides.
This wheel helps the bench to roll from one incline position to another.
As you can see from the picture above, there are 6 holes on the side of the frame.
These are the 6 levels of incline where the locking pin fits.
First incline setting is about 30 degrees.
Perfect to hit some incline bench presses.
The last level of incline is almost 90 degrees and keeps the seat at an upright position.
You can see how far back the seat has moved from its starting position.
Lowering / Lifting Assisted Mechanism
To assist you with lifting and lowering the bench, PRx placed gas shocks on both sides of the bench.
These connect the bench frame to the wall bracket.
The gas shocks also keep the bench upright against the wall.
The pressure created by the gas shocks prevents the bench from falling.
Adjustable Leveling Feet
Right below each leg of the PRX folding incline bench, you’ll see leveling feet.
These twist in a screw like mechanism to accommodate for uneven floors.
From the inside of the bench you can see the thread on the leveling feet.
This lets you adjust all four corners independently so you can remain stable throughout your exercises.

PRx Performance Folding Incline Bench Review
Overall the PRx folding incline bench is solid.
Feels very stable, comfortable, saves space, and has plenty of incline angles to do many exercises.
It is definitely a step up from its previous counterpart, the flat folding bench.
Typical of PRx, this is another premium product and one that I recommend.
