In my search for a vertical barbell holder, I ran into this multi-functional home gym wall organizer.
Not only can you hang barbells from it but you can throw other accessories on there as well.
This way you’re not paying for something that only has one purpose.
We’re in garage gyms here, organization and space saving is optimal!
Let’s check it out.
Unboxing
The wall storage rack came neatly wrapped in plastic.
You get the rack, installation hardware, and instructions booklet.
Hardware includes 4 washers, 4 screws, 4 masonry anchors, and 2 carabiners.
Specs
- Material: Powder covered steel
- Length: 25″ long
- Hooks: 5″ deep
- Weight capacity per hook: 44 lbs
Features
The vertical barbell holder has with 12 hooks.
There is a gap of 1.3″ in between every hook and that makes it possible to slide a barbell through them.
Each hook is 5 inches deep and has a weight capacity of 44 lbs.
The end of each hook has a lip to prevent anything from falling off of it.
On the first and last hook there is a hole towards the back.
This is for the carabiners that came with the product.
Put a carabiner on each hole for additional storage.
Installation
Installing the home gym wall storage unit is easy.
Start off by getting a stud finder to mark where you plan to drill.
Most studs are 16″ apart on center.
From the back, you can see the wall storage rack has 4 holes (2 on each side) that are 16″ apart.
The holes should match your studs so that the barbell holder is anchored securely.
If you have concrete walls then you don’t need to worry about studs, just make sure the holes are 16″ apart.
Mark your 4 spots with a pencil while using a level to keep them even, then drill pilot holes.
Fasten the wall organizer into place with the screws and washers provided.
And you’re all done!
Vertical Barbell Holder
Barbells fit perfectly in between each hook.
The lip on the hooks prevents them from falling off the storage rack.
So far I’ve only hung one out of my 3 barbells on there.
Accessories Organizer
As you can see above, I was able to hang a lot of accessories from the vertical barbell holder.
I hung resistance bands, wrist straps, a dip belt, hanging ab straps, resistance tubes, speed rope, chains, ninja grips, and hand grips.
And of course, I have so much crap that I had to use the carabiners on each side for extra storage.
On one side I hung both of my triceps ropes.
On the other carabiner I hung a bunch of ninja grips.
But this thing can hold so much that I still had room to throw more on it.
There’s still room on top of each hook on both sides of the barbell.
So I threw a pair of parallettes on the left top shelf.
And of course I still had room on the right side.
So I threw some wrist supports and fat grips on there.
Vertical Barbell Holder Review
I’m very pleased with the multi-functional wall storage rack.
Not only does it work as a vertical barbell holder but I can get A LOT of accessories on there too.
Rather than having them all on the floor, this keeps everything more organized and easy to find.
With good weight capacity and plenty of room to play with, I highly recommend it.
