The Exponent Edge wall mounted GHD solves two big problems for home gym owners.
It takes up very little space and costs way less than a stand alone GHD machine.
And just by looking at it you wouldn’t think much of it…
But just like its rack mounted cousin, the wall mounted glute ham developer has lots of versatility.
Let’s check it out!

Features
Here’s what the GHD looks like once it’s mounted on the wall.
If you look at the metal plate touching the wall, there’s a hole on each end and a hole closer to the center.
This gives me the option to mount the GHD on wall studs that are 16″ or 24″ apart.
Here’s a closer of the wall plate from the top.
The metal wall plate is secured on top and bottom from both sides so this thing won’t budge even with a ton of weight on it.
Here’s a look is what the metal piece sticking out from the wall looks like.
Solid steel all around.
I don’t see anyone ever damaging this thing.
The 4 pads are thick and the upholstery is tightly wrapped around them.
They’re very comfortable and don’t put any pressure on my feet.
Installation
Installing the GHD takes about 15 minutes with the majority of that time taken up by finding the wall studs.
All the hardware is included and can be mounted on wooden or metal studs 16″ or 24″ apart.
Once it’s installed this thing can hold over 500 lbs.
Wall Mounted GHD vs GHD Machine
When comparing a wall mounted glute ham developer to a stand alone GHD machine, size and the space it takes is the obvious difference.
The Titan Fitness GHD machine you see above is 70″ long x 46″ wide x 41″ tall.
Compare that to the space the Exponent Edge wall mounted glute ham developer takes and it’s a huge difference.
Titan’s GHD machine also comes with a $600 price point vs $200 for Exponent Edge’s wall mounted version.
When comparing Exponent Edge’s GHD to the Rogue GHD machine, it will take about the same space as Titan’s.
Rogue’s costs $45 more (plus shipping) than Titan’s.
So as far as price and space go, Exponent Edge has the edge.
GHD machines do have height involved so I usually pull up a bench or box if I need height for low back extensions or GHD sit ups.
Wall Mounted GHD vs Rack Mounted GHD
As I showed in a previous review, I have the Exponent Edge rack mounted GHD.
I love the thing but just like any rack mounted accessory, I have to take it off my wall mounted weight rack once I’m done working out.
And where does it go? The floor of course!
Unless I leave it on the rack but then I won’t have room for other accessories like my rack mounted cable pulley machine.
This is where the wall mounted GHD comes in handy.
I can install it on the wall and once I’m done it’s off the floor and there to stay.
GHD Machine Exercises
The wall mounted GHD has lots of exercise and workout versatility.
I can do Bulgarian split squats, sit ups, planks, push ups, lower back extensions, and more.
An exercise I like to do on the wall mounted glute ham developer is the Nordic curl.
And yes, I have a Nordic curl bench but I’m limited to that one exercise with the bench.
The wall mounted GHD has more versatility.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Space saving: Compared to a traditional GHD machine, wall mounted takes up minimal space
- Cost: This costs 1/4 of the price of a stand alone GHD machine
- Versatile: I can do many exercises with one piece of equipment
- Build: Made out of solid steel so it’s literally unbreakable
- Comfortable: Foam padding is thick and comfortable
Cons
- Fixed position: Height can’t be changed but I can still get a lot of exercises in

As simple as it looks, it is extremely versatile.

With a small footprint and steep difference in price vs a traditional GHD machine, Exponent Edge has a winner.
