The AbMat Massage Gun Holder is something I’ve been wanting for a while.
Massage guns are great for recovery but reaching your back is a pain in the ass.
I’ve tried other massage gun mounts but the whole process of strapping the massage gun and mounting it on the rack took too long.
AbMat’s holder is magnetic and attaches to my weight rack without straps or bolts.
And I can move it up and down the rack in seconds so I can treat my whole body.
Let’s check it out!

I like how simple the massage gun holder is.
Other holders I’ve used had a bunch of straps, knobs, and bolts and this looks way easier to use.
The velcro straps are secured by bolts which is good since I’m gonna be tugging on them often.
There’s three magnets on the back that are screwed down which gives me the impression they’re strong.
And the other side also has bolted down straps with buckles.
Looks like all I have to do is strap my massage gun down and stick it to my 3 x 3 weight rack.

Rack Mounted Massage Gun Holder
The massage gun holder sits flush on my weight rack post.
Two flaps on the side keep it from shifting sideways.
Not sure how this would work on weight rack posts that are not 3 x 3.
AbMat’s Anti-Vibration Foam
AbMat’s world famous foam makes another grand appearance.
I own several of their products that use their specialized foam (Medicine ball, Preacher Pad, AbMat, , Hip Thrust Pad, Barbell Bomb, and Box Squat Pad).
The foam is U-shaped so the massage gun’s cylindrical handle sits there perfectly.
It’s anti-vibration foam to reduce or prevent rattle when I turn on the massage gun.
Velcro Straps
The massage gun holder has two velcro straps that run horizontally on top of each other.
Both the straps and velcro are high quality.
I tug on them real hard to secure my massage gun and the velcro straps stick to each other real good.
Magnets
There’s three magnets on the back of the holder.
They’re set up diagonally to cover more surface area on the weight rack post.
I’m not sure if they’re rare earth magnets but they’re really strong.
Massage Gun Compatibility
The AbMat magnetic massage gun holder is compatible with most massage guns with a cylindrical handle.
I have the Athphy massager and it fits the holder like a glove.
I’m not sure if it works well with massage guns like the Theragun (shown above) or TimTam which have a closed loop handle.
Setting Up Massage Gun
Adding my massage gun to the AbMat massage gun holder was easy.
First thing I did was place the holder on my weight rack.
You’ll see two buckles on one side.
Insert the velcro straps through the two buckles.
Insert your massage gun between the velcro straps and the anti-vibration foam.
Tighten the velcro straps firmly so the massage gun doesn’t move and you’re all set.
Massage Hard To Reach Areas
If you own a massage gun, you know how hard it is to reach your upper and middle back.
With the magnetic massage gun holder you can hit those areas without a problem.
Then move it down to treat your lower back.
Move It Up and Down In Seconds
Once you have your massage gun strapped to the massage gun holder, you can move it up and down your post quickly.
Having the ability to move the massage gun holder up and down is key.
You can treat yourself hands free without the need for a second person.
What I Like
- Treat hard to reach areas: I can massage areas like my upper, middle, and lower back without a third arm
- No rattle: The anti-vibration foam absorbs the massage gun’s vibration so it doesn’t rattle
- Fast adjustments: I can easily move my massage gun up and down the rack in seconds
- No human needed: Don’t need to rely on someone else to massage my back whenever I want
- Straps securely: Heavy duty velcro straps keep my massage gun in place
- Strong magnets: The holder doesn’t move at all when the massage gun is on
What I Would Improve
I can’t think of anything I would improve about AbMat’s massage gun holder.
I’ll look into testing it with a closed handle massage gun and report it here.
I’m also not sure how it fits on weight rack posts that are 2 x 2 or 2 x 3.
Where To Buy
You can buy the magnetic massage gun holder directly from AbMat’s website.
AbMat Massage Gun Holder Review
I’m big on active recovery so adding the magnetic massage gun holder to my gym is a no brainer.
Double heavy duty velcro straps keep my massage gun secure.
The anti-vibration foam prevents rattling.
And the magnets make it easy to move it up and down my weight rack.
