AbMat Medicine Ball Review

The AbMat medicine ball is like no other med ball I’ve used.

I’ve dealt with med balls where seams spread apart, laces tear, and the interior starts to come out.

AbMat’s med ball has no stitching or laces, no stuffing, and it’s apparently indestructible.

Believe me, they’ve tried ridiculous amounts of ways to destroy it with no luck.

The med ball comes in a square box.

First thing you see when you open it is a warning label.

What can a medicine ball possibly do to harm you?

A closer look at the warning sticker shows that AbMat’s med ball can also be used as a slam ball.

But you gotta be careful not to slam it so close to your face because it bounces much more than a slam ball.

After getting through the warning layer I finally got to this beauty.

AbMat Medicine Ball vs Traditional Med Balls

When you compare the AbMat med ball to traditional medicine balls, the differences are obvious.

Traditional med balls like Titan’s have seams, laces, and are stuffed inside.

AbMat’s med ball has none of those.

They’re a single-piece, polyurethane, single-foam injection molded medicine balls.

Slam Ball?

Yes, the medicine ball can also be used as a slam ball.

It can be slammed agains the floor or a wall.

When you slam it to the floor make sure you move your face out of the way.

Medicine Ball Exercises

You can use the medicine ball for any traditional med ball exercises like wall balls.

Or slams against the floor or wall.

And check out the bounce on AbMat’s med ball.

It’s insane which is why I said you better get your face out of the way after slamming it.

AbMat Med Ball Pros & Cons

What I Like

  • Nothing to Tear – no seams, laces, or stuffing to rip or fall out
  • Doubles As Slam Ball – tough enough to slam without any damage. Just watch your face when it bounces back.
  • Grip – embossing and molded texture prevents slipping off your hands
  • Water resistant – won’t absorb sweat or water making it easy to clean
  • Indestructible – try to destroy and get back to me once you succeed

What I Don’t Like

  • Expensive – this is probably the most expensive medicine ball you’ll ever buy but it will be the only one that lasts you a lifetime

Where To Buy

You can buy the medicine ball straight from AbMat’s website or from Rogue Fitness.

Rogue teamed up with AbMat to create their own branded medicine balls.

You get the same bad ass balls from either website (only difference is the name).

They come with a two year warranty.

AbMat Medicine Ball Review

AbMat’s medicine ball is a beast.

Once you get your hands on it, you immediately notice the difference in the material they use.

There’s nothing cheap about it.

It’s tough as nails, can be used as both a med ball and slam ball, and you’ll never have to buy another medicine ball again.
