The Exponent Edge Infinity bar is a beauty.
I may be biased because it matches my red and black themed garage gym but this barbell is solid.
Exponent Edge designed this as a hybrid bar for bodybuilders and powerlifters.
With a cerakote finished shaft, QPQ coated sleeves, and a lifetime warranty, it’s meant to look and function great for years to come.
Let’s check it out!

The Infinity bar came in a long cardboard tube with nothing sticking out of the ends.
I’ve had barbells delivered before and the packaging was not the greatest but this one came packaged properly.
The plastic end cap is screwed on to the cardboard cylinder making it impossible to come off.
Worse thing a company can do is use tape to secure the end cap because the bar will push right through it and get scratched.
Once I unscrewed the end cap, there’s another cap protecting the end of the barbell sleeves.
And here’s the Infinity bar out of the tube.
Wrapped in plastic and protected at both ends.
Great packaging by Exponent Edge 👏.

Features
Barbell Shaft
The shaft on the Infinity bar looks amazing.
It’s coated with a Cerakote finish which gives it a glossy look that’s rust resistant and requires low maintenance.
I like the medium knurling on it (it’s similar to Exponent Edge’s curl bar).
Not too passive and not too aggressive that it’ll rip up my hands with high reps.
The shaft has a 29mm diameter, 205K tensile strength, and has a weight capacity of 1500 lbs.
So this will work for home gym enthusiasts like me and anyone else regardless of fitness level.
Barbell Sleeves
The sleeves are coated with Melonite QPQ which is meant to decrease corrosion among other things.
I really dig the black sleeves with red shaft look.
Here’s what my 55 lbs bumper plate looks like on the sleeves.
I still have plenty of room to load it up since it’s 16.5″ long.
One downside to black sleeves though, is that they can get scratched easily especially when I use iron weight plates.
Same thing happens with my Synergee Rhino barbell.
I personally don’t care about this since it’s just a cosmetic issue but doesn’t affect how the barbell functions.
And right on the inside of the sleeves you’ll see composite bushings.
The end cap has the Exponent Edge logo.
Powerbuilding Bar Pros & Cons
Pros
- Cerakote finish: Keeps the shaft protected from rust and looking new
- Aesthetics: Black and red combo is something I love as you can tell from the rest of my gym
- Knurling: Medium knurling feels just right, not too passive and not too aggressive
- Weight capacity: 1500 lbs weight capacity is way more than I’ll ever need
- Price: I like that it’s a quality barbell at less than $300 (see below to save even more)
Cons
- Sleeves: Even though they’re coated, the sleeves still get scratched. More of an aesthetic issue that won’t affect the bar’s function.

Exponent Edge Infinity Bar Review
The Infinity bar has become one of my favorite barbells and I use it consistently.
I like that medium knurling doesn’t rip up my hands and aesthetically it’s eye candy.
Yes, the sleeves will get scratches on them but I bought it to use it not to keep it on my wall.
With a high weight capacity of 1500 lbs, this will hold anything I put on it.
