It comes in one piece so there’s nothing to put together.

First Impressions

The HGG Nordic bar feels heavy duty and looks sexy.

I like the branded mustache knobs on the bolts and engraved laser cuts.

The neoprene pads provides comfortable cushioning yet don’t look bulky like cheap pads on other Nordic bars.

HGG Performance Nordic Bar Features

Each neoprene foam pad is just shy of 7″ long (6 7/8″ to be exact).

They are 3/8″ in thickness.

Two heavy duty bolts can be loosened and tightened by twisting mustache knobs (they look awesome!).

The bolts are not aligned vertically and this is done purposely so they grip over a bigger surface area to prevent slipping.

Two clamping rubber pads keep the Nordic bar held in place against your post.

The rubber pads swivel a bit and I’m guessing that’s to grip around surfaces that are not completely flat.

An anti-slip textured pad faces the clamping pads to grip your post securely.

This pad also protects your post from scratches.

How To Use

Insert the Nordic Bar around your weight rack post

Turn the two mustache bolts clockwise until the rubber pads are pushing tightly against the post.

Push down on the leg support with your hands to make sure the Nordic bar doesn’t slide down.

Slide your heels under the padded leg supports.

Kneel on a bench or pad and lean forward from the knees feeling the tension in your hamstrings as you go down.

Push yourself back up and repeat.

HGG Performance has started selling a Nordic pad now but any pad works.

Mounted Low

You can mount the Nordic bar low and close to the floor if you’re going to use a knee pad.

Between your toes touching the floor and the pads above your heels, your feet will remain stationary as you descend into the Nordic curl.

Mounted High

You can also mount the Nordic bar high if you’re going to use a bench as a knee pad.

Just slide a bench a few inches below the Nordic bar.

You may have to play around with the height of the Nordic bar to make sure your heels are held securely.

Once you find the sweet spot, kneel on the bench, get your heels below the pads, and start the Nordic curls.

Whether you do Nordic curls on the floor or a bench, the Nordic bar’s job is to hold your legs stationary.

Nordic curls aren’t easy so I usually use the NordSpotter for nordic curl progressions.

Compatibility

The HGG Nordic bar can fasten to any post up to 3.5″ wide.

So whether you have a 2″ x 2″ rack, 3″ x 3″ rack, or anything in between, you’re good.

Stability

Many Nordic bar rack attachments aren’t stable and move around when you use them.

The HGG Performance Nordic Bar is very stable which was surprising to me because it doesn’t have any rods going through my weight rack.

Instead, it uses two bolts to fasten itself against the post.

I stood on top of the Nordic bar and jerked it around and it stayed in place.
