The folks at Inertia Wave are at it again but this time, it’s the Inertia Wave Strong doing the punishment.
I previously reviewed the original Inertia Wave (Inertia Wave SOLO) and it’s one hell of a metabolic conditioning workout.
But now the Inertia Wave Strong gives you the same HIIT workout as the SOLO, plus the ability to use it as resistance bands!
This gives you a complete balance of metabolic conditioning, core strengthening, and resistance training in one tool.
When I saw this new product, the masochist in me had to give it a try.

The IW Strong came in a small FedEx bag.
The reason I mention this is because unlike a battle rope, the Inertia Wave tubes don’t take up a lot of room.
This makes it great for traveling workouts and easy to store away.
Once pulled out of the FedEx bag, you can see how the tubes, rail straps, and handles store neatly like a garden hose.
They also include a mesh travel bag with the product so you can just toss it in when not in use.
Here’s what’s included with the IW Strong:
- 2 Inertia Wave Strong tubes
- 2 rail anchors
- 2 hand grips
- 2 padded straps
- 1 mesh travel bag
Specs
- Length – 9 feet
- Width – 2 inches
- Weight – 1.5 lbs
- Material – natural elastomer with enhanced physical properties and trace amounts of latex
Inertia Wave Solo vs Inertia Wave Strong
The Inertia Wave STRONG is an evolution of the Inertia Wave SOLO.
You get all of the same benefits and movements as the SOLO with the addition of strength exercises.
The Inertia Wave STRONG is modified for several new attachments that allow you to challenge your body through resistance during your normal Inertia Wave routine.
The major difference between the two products, is the STRONG has a green noose built into the end of each tube.
That green noose gives you the ability to attachable hand grips and two black straps.
That way you can use the tubes as resistance bands for a complete upper and lower body strength training workout.
The SOLO doesn’t bring any handles or straps since it doesn’t have a noose at the end of each tube.

Anchoring the IW Strong
Before you start any exercise with the IW Strong, you have to make sure it’s anchored correctly.
You want to anchor the black rail straps 24″ to 36″ apart from each other.
Make sure the height of the anchor point is about waist high.
You can anchor the Inertia Waves bands to almost anything.
Dumbbells, fences, rails, weight sleds, trees, etc.
This makes the IW Strong easy to travel with.
I guess the question is is it worth the extra money. Can you leave through Amazon you can get the inertial wave sometimes less than $120 when they have one through their warehouse or someone returned one within the 30 day period. They don’t have the strong on Amazon. The other benefit with ordering from Amazon is that no questions ass 30 day return I don’t know if that’s the case with Gronks fitness. I’m curious of your thoughts behind what you’ve written as to the having the strength part is worth that extra money. Thanks. Jim
Jim, depends on your goals and what you currently have for equipment.
The Inertia Wave Strong replaces resistance bands (strength)and has the cardio component.
If you already have weights or resistance bands, then the Inertia Wave Solo would be your best option.
