With a 33 L capacity, 7 external and 2 internal pockets, the Plus33 JNR Kong duffel bag has enough room for any gym goer.
Plus it has a hidden compartment to keep dirty shoes and sweaty clothes off my clean ones.
Let’s check it out!
Unboxing
Table of Contents
I got the Plus33 JNR Kong duffel bag which is King Kong’s smallest duffel bag.
After I took it out of the package, it came wrapped in the plastic wrapper you see above.
And here it is out of the plastic wrapper.
The quality of the material, stitching, and straps are outstanding.
This is the front of the duffel bag, I’ll show it to you from all sides.
The back side doesn’t have any pockets.
All there is two straps stitched to the bag that leads to the handles.
This is the left side of the King Kong duffel bag.
There’s a zipper on the top for a pocket and another zipper hidden at the bottom.
I’ll be showing you a closer look at both compartments shortly.
The right side of the JNR Kong has a dual bottle pocket held together at the middle by a small magnet.
And the top has the handles held at the middle by a buttoned strap.
The shoulder strap comes inside the duffel bag, I’ll show you what it looks like later.
Now that I’ve shown you all sides, I’ll give you the specs, then show you each side in detail.

Features
I’ll start off by showing you the left side of the King Kong duffel bag because this is one of its smartest features.
The top of the left side has an obvious zipper but at the bottom there’s another not so obvious one.
When I unzip it, the inside has a red nylon like material.
This is the shoe compartment.
Maximum shoe size that can fit in the PLUS33 King Kong duffel bag is 12 (US men’s).
And it’s genius because it’s inside the duffel bag but the shoes (or other wet/dirty things) don’t touch anything inside.
If you’re shoe size is bigger than 12, the PLUS63 King Kong duffel bag would be a better option.
Here’s what it looks like from inside the duffel bag with the shoes inside the compartment.
When I’m done working out and my shoes or clothes are smelly or sweaty they stay away from everything else.
Dual Bottle Pockets
Now lets look at the right side of the King Kong duffel bag.
No zipper on this size, just a magnet in the middle of the pocket.
And this is what the dual bottle pocket looks like when I pull it off the magnet.
If I have two bottles I don’t really need to attach the pocket at the center.
This just helps to keep the bottles snug against the duffel bag so they don’t fall out.
Front Pockets
The front of the bag has 3 pockets.
Two small ones and a bigger one right behind the small ones.
I’m going to start with the left pocket with the flap.
The flap is held in the middle by a magnet.
And here’s what it looks like when I open it.
It’s small pocket but it works for accessory gym items.
Things like Angles90 grips, lifting straps, hand grips, jump ropes, and other small accessories can fit in here.
And then there’s the other small pocket to the right with the King Kong branding on it.
When I unzip it there’s another small pouch on the inside.
This one is perfect for my cell phone, keys, and wallet.
And right behind the smaller pockets there’s a bigger pocket with a second pocket inside.
In here I can fit bigger items like post workout meals and supplements.
Or medium sized accessories like Swissies, suspension straps, and reverse squat straps.
Now it’s time to show you the main compartment.
King Kong Duffel Bag Main Compartment
Here’s the what the main compartment looks like when it’s zipped up and with the handles unbuttoned.
This is just a big pocket with nothing inside but the shoe compartment I showed you earlier.
It has a 33L (8.7 GAL) capacity so I can throw towels, a change of clothes, resistance bands, tablets, laptops, etc.
There’s a lot of room in there for one person to stuff it with everything you’ll need at the gym or when traveling small.
Straps
Both the handle straps and shoulder strap a wide and look tough.
It almost looks like seatbelt material.
The stitching on the straps and all over the duffel bag is also top notch.
Just like the handle straps, the shoulder strap has a cover in the middle.
The shoulder strap is adjustable and clips to each side of the bag.
What Fits Inside A King Kong Duffel Bag?
Here’s a sample of everything that can fit inside the Plus33 JNR Kong duffel bag.
It’s compact but I can fit a ton of stuff in there and keep it organized at the same time.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Compact: Even though this is King Kong’s smallest duffel bag, it can still hold a lot for its size
- Shoes compartment: Separate shoe compartment keeps smells and dirt away from clean items
- Quality: Everything from the stitching, buckles, zippers, buttons, straps is top notch and made to last
- Organization: Multiple compartments keep things organized
- Zippers: Zippers move smoothly without the need to yank them
Cons
- Price: The bag is not cheap but that’s usually the case with a quality bag that can take abuse and won’t rip easily
