Mr Infinity Multi Purpose Sled Review

I picked up the Mr Infinity multi purpose sled from Shogun Sports and it’s a beauty.

And it’s actually more compact than I was expecting it to be.

It’s less than 30″ long but it feels stout.

I’m a huge fan of weight sleds because they’re one hell of a conditioning tool and I can use them indoor and outdoor.

Let’s check it out!

Here’s how the multi purpose weight sled comes packed.

It comes bubble wrapped with an instructions manual.

And here it is out of the box.

It’s beefy but at the same time compact.

I like the Mr Infinity and Shogun Sports branding on it.

It’s laser cut into the sled and also screwed on a plaque.

The middle of the sled is not a hole where the center post inserts into.

It’s a three sided square with openings for hardware.

Here’s what the center post looks like with its hardware.

It’s a bolt with two washers and a nut.

Here’s what the center post looks like once I got the hardware on it.

The center post is 17.7″ tall so there’s plenty of room to add Olympic weight plates or bumper plates.

When I’m not using the weight sled I can just fold down the center post so it takes up less space.

The posts (handles) came in a separate box also bubble wrapped.

The handles are about 3 feet tall.

One end has an opening and the other has a plastic end cap.

This is what the bottom looks like.

Two UHMW plastic skis came screwed on to the bottom so I can use it on any surface.

Nice addition so my neighbors don’t get pissed off at me when I make noise dragging the sled across my driveway.

Base Model

Shogun Sports base model (shown above minus the wrap around rail) comes with pushing accessories only.

It comes with the sled, folding center post, two handle posts, and two UHMW plastic skis plus hardware.

The weight sled does a hole on each side to clip on a carabiner for a strap but that’s not included.

But I didn’t just want a push sled so I picked up other accessories as well.

If I’m gonna sled might as well have all the options available, right?

Add-On Accessories

Sled Strap

mr infinity premium sled strap

I had to get Mr Infinity’s premium sled strap for sled pulls.

It comes in a travel case wrapped with a velcro strap.

mr infinity premium sled strap

I gotta say this thing is premium quality!

The strap is 8 feet long, almost 4 inches wide, and made of industrial grade polyester webbing.

One end has a metal ring connected to the carabiner and the other has an open loop to feed the strap through itself.

The strap has a break strength of 10 tons and the carabiner has been tested up 1.5 tons so I’m not worried about them breaking.

The part of the strap that goes around my waist is thicker than the rest of the strap.

And this was designed like that on purpose.

As I cut the slack on the sled strap, the loop starts to ride up towards me but it can’t get past the thicker strap around my waist.

This forms a gap so the strap doesn’t choke my waist, making it very comfortable to do reverse sled pulls.

Bridge & Wrap Around Rail

And since I got the sled strap, I might as well get the bridge and wrap around rail as well.

mr infinity bridge and wrap around rail kit

Here’s what it looks like when I took it out of the box.

And of course it comes with all the hardware to attach the bridge and rail to the weight sled.

The bridge adds 4″ of height from the base of the sled so that I can screw the wrap around rail to it.

With the wrap around rail I can do my reverse pulls then quickly walk to the opposite side of the sled without unclipping the carabiner.

The carabiner stays on one end of the rail as I do my reverse pulls.

Once I get to the point where I stop and need to pull in the opposite direction, I walk around the sled and the carabiner glides on the rail.

Until I get to the other side of the weight sled.

This way I don’t waste time or energy on unclipping and clipping.

It may sound like I’m being lazy but it’s actually the opposite since I have less time to catch my breath so the workouts feel harder.

I’ve used other weight sleds before (Freak Athlete Multi Sled and Ethos Power Sled) that don’t have the wrap around rail and I gotta say I’m a fan.

Knees Over Toes Guy Equipment

A weight sled is a great piece of equipment for the Knees Over Toes Guy program.

And as Ben Patrick shows in the video above, doing backward sled drags in as little as 5 minutes a day can be great for knee heath.

But sled pushes and pulls are just the beginning.

With the Mr. Infinity multi purpose sled I can do so much more…

Weight Sled Exercises

In the video above you’ll see a variety of weight sled exercises you can incorporate at home.

And you need special turf to do these either.

Find a grassy area, your driveway, or dirt road, and it’s game on.

Use Anything That Weighs

competition bumper plates

Even though the Mr Infinity weight sled was designed for weight plates I throw just about anything that weighs on it.

Here I stacked 5 competition bumper plates on it and still had room for more.

weight it out plates

And of course it works with iron weight plates also as long as they’re Olympic sized (2″ center hole).

But I also like to mix it up and use random things that weigh.

brute force training sandbags

I like throw sandbags on the sled often because it gives me the chance to mix up my workouts.

Push or pull the sled one way, when I get to my stopping point, I pick up the sandbag for a quick set of squats, shoulder press, etc.

I’m basically doing super sets and it’s a killer way to combine conditioning with strength training.

brute force kettlebell sandbag

If I wanna workout each arm individually, I throw my kettlebell sandbags on top.

rogue strongman sandbag

And if I’m feeling bold, I’ll go with my 100 lbs Rogue strongman sandbag.

I use the sandbags by themselves or in combination with weight plates depending on how much I wanna beat myself up.

abmat medicine ball

If I feel like combining my sled workout with ball slams, then I’ll throw my 20 lbs AbMat medicine ball on top.

As you can tell this is not a one trick pony and there’s many ways you can use a weight sled.

  • Versatility: I can use this for more than just sled pushes and pulls
  • Multi-surface: UHMW plastic skis makes this usable on many surfaces
  • Compact design: I like that it’s big enough to fit Olympic sized plates but it doesn’t take up a lot of space
  • Wrap around rail: I love the rail when doing sled pulls with the strap because I don’t have to unclip it to change sides

Cons

  • Center post: Not compatible with standard weight plates but you can just throw them on top with the post folded down

Mr Infinity Multi Purpose Sled Review

I’m very happy with Mr Infinity’s multi purpose sled because it’s extremely versatile and I enjoy the beat down I get from it (call me masochist).

I really like how it’s build solidly yet it has a compact design that doesn’t take up a lot of space in my garage gym.

And the wrap around rail works great with the premium sled strap to decrease my rest time in between reverse sled pulls.

It slides smoothly on any surface so I can workout anywhere.
