X3M magnetic squat rack pins make it easy to secure attachments to your power rack.
They sell these in two sizes: 5/8″ diameter and 1″ diameter, both 4.5″ in shaft length.
My power rack has 3×3 uprights and has holes in both sizes so the pins are compatible.
These pins are more aesthetically pleasing than hitch pins, hair clip pins, and bolts.
Let’s dig in!

Table of Contents
X3M MagPins are no longer sold online.
I suggest you check out Fringe Sport MagPins or Surplus Strength Speed Pins instead, which are very similar with some more features.
Unboxing
Inside the box the magnetic pins come in a plastic bag in two pieces, the shaft and the head.
Out of the box, you can see that setting these up is straight forward.
Screw the shaft into the head and it’s ready to use.
The magnetic pin above is the 1″ diameter.
This one here is 5/8″ in diameter.
Right here I’m showing you a close up of the threads at the end of the shaft and inside the head.
As you there’s 6 neodymium magnets on the head.
These keep the pin stuck to any accessory I want to use on my rack.
Once both shafts are screwed into the head, the magnetic squat rack pins look like one piece.
Here’s what the pins look like right next to each other.
You can clearly see the top one has the 1″ diameter shaft.
Length is the same for both.

Where To Use Magnetic Squat Rack Pins
Spotter Arms
I use the magnetic pins on my Titan spotter arms.
The spotter arms have a pin at the top but not at the bottom.
All they have is an opening where you can insert any pin all the way through the weight rack.
Without the pin, the spotter arm is free to move side to side.
Once I insert the magnetic pin through the bottom hole of the spotter arm, it’s secured on top and bottom with nowhere to move.
Here’s a look at the magnetic pin going through the rack.
Dip Bar
I also use the X3M magnetic pins with my dip bar.
For the dip bar the pin will cross the power rack horizontally instead of front to back.
Here’s what the head looks like when the dip bar is on the rack.
And a front view of the magnetic pin going through the dip bar and rack.
Other Power Rack Attachments
You can use magnetic pins on most power rack attachments you own.
Other attachments I can think of right off the top of my head include lever arms, j-cups, weight plate storage pins, leg extension / curl machine, jammer arms, and anything else that can be rack mounted.
Storage
Whenever I’m not using the pins I just leave them on my weight rack or on whatever piece of equipment I used.
I don’t have to worry about losing them since the strong magnets hold them in place.
Where To Buy Magnetic Squat Rack Pins
Bare Steel Equipment Power Pin
Bare Steel Equipment sells a 1″ diameter, 5″ shaft magnetic power rack pin.
They call theirs the Stacked Power Pin.
As far I know, Bare Steel only sells a 1″ pin, I didn’t see a 5/8″ pin on their website.
Their prices start at $79.95 per pin which is more expensive than X3M’s but….
If you use coupon code SHREDDED you’ll get a discount 👊
Oak Club Manufacturing MagPin
Oak Club Manufacturing sells the MagPin.
It has a 1″ diameter, 4.5″ long shaft, and knurled head.
They sell theirs for $91 for the pair (plus shipping).
X3M Magnetic Pins
I got the X3M pins from Amazon.
These come in two sizes which gives me more options since my rack has both hole sizes.
The 1″ diameter magnetic pin sells for $27.
And the 5/8″ pin sells for $25.
They get the job done and they don’t break the bank.
X3M Magnetic Squat Rack Pins Review
Originally I didn’t think I would use these pins much.
But after using them with my attachments, they save time, secure to the rack safely with magnets, and the chrome look makes them look clean er than hitch pins.
I actually ordered more of them for a custom product I’m having made where these pins will come in very handy (can’t wait to share that!).
If you own many power rack attachments, magnetic pins are much easier to work with than hitch pins.
