Wall mounted weight plate storage is a huge space saver that’ll also keep your home gym organized.
For me, wall storage has been a game changer because I’ve been able to pack a TON of equipment in one garage bay.
Remember this…you only have one floor versus at least 3 walls and a ceiling.
Use that wall space to your advantage….
My Budget Friendly Wall Mounted Weight Plate Storage Solution
Table of Contents
When I first started building my garage gym 7 years ago, I was looking for the most budget friendly storage solutions.
So I had to think outside the box and use products from Home Depot and other non-gym related stores.
I used heavy duty hooks to hang barbells…
Tie racks to hang light products like resistance bands, jump ropes, and cable attachments (I’ll show you a video later…)
But my favorite non-gym related storage idea was using tire hangers as weight plate holders.
They’re heavy duty, hold a lot of weight, and are angled slightly upwards so nothing slides off of them.
Here’s what they look like when I throw my competition bumper plates on them.
This 55 lbs bumper is 2 3/4″ thick and I still have 3″ left over on the tire hanger so there’s plenty of space for multiple plates to go on.
I liked these so much, that I bought several packs and lined my walls with them so I started using them for everything.
But before I show you how I use them, I’ll give you their specs so you can see if it’s something that’ll work for you.

Other Ways I’ve Used Them
Dip Bar Wall Mount
Here I’m using two tire hangers to support my dip bar.
The cross beam sits perfectly on the tire hangers and a combination of the angled tire hangers and the the dip bar handles keep it from tilting forward.
Nordic Bench On The Wall
Even though most Nordic benches can stand up vertically to save floor space, nothing beats getting them completely off the floor.
And that’s exactly what I did with the NordBench.
I set its hind leg on top of the tire hangers and it’s off my home gym floor so I have plenty of room to workout without tripping on stuff.

Weight Sled Hanger
I have a foldable weight sled and I hang it the same way…
Cross beam sits on top of the tire hangers and it’s out of my way.
Home Gym Storage & Organization
Watch the video above, where I show you more storage ideas that can make a huge impact on your home gym organization.
Home Gym Wall Organizer
When it comes to gym attachments and accessories, you don’t want to throw them in a bucket where you have to dig your way through.
Instead, get more organized with a home gym wall organizer.
This can be used for anything like weight belts, resistance bands, chains, jump ropes, and more…
Spotter Arm Storage
Spotter arms are another piece of equipment that gets in the way when they’re not on my rack.
So I’m glad I found these PRx spotter arm hangers to keep my toes from getting stubbed.
Vertical Barbell Hanger
There’s plenty of barbell storage options out there.
But when I first started my garage gym, I went with these heavy duty hooks to store my barbells vertically.
They have curved tips that prevent my barbells from falling.

Wall Mounted Gym Storage
As you can see, I use as much wall space as possible to get things off the floor and stay organized.
I got the tire hangers for my weight plates but they’ve become more useful than I thought.
And after 7 years, they’ve passed the test of time with only a few scratches on top.
The best part is that a set of 4 is only $50, which is a steal….
